The morning after the party, not everyone was able to leave right away. Ella, Zoey and I came across several people sleeping on the lounge chairs by the pool, others on the sofas and some of them were on the floor with their backs resting against the walls or the doors.

They were still so drunk that they barely heard the three of us as we moved along the mansion.

We made it to the patio while I was still talking about the highlights of the party and they just kept nodding along like that was what they were interested in. But I knew what they wanted to hear and dragging it out a little longer was amusing.

When we sat down on the same couch with me in the middle, I finally began telling them in detail what happened last night and they gasped.

“Fuck!” Ella said quietly as she dropped her hands from her mouth. “Maddox really caught the two of you kissing?”

“OMG!” Zoey clapped once with wide eyes of curiosity. “How was it?”

Ella and I instantly looked at her with disbelief. She realized it quickly and forced a chuckle before clearing things up.

“Look, it’s not that I’m happy that Grayson finally kissed you. It’s just that the last time you were with him in that store, he almost kissed you. I mean come on. You wanted this for the longest time and it finally happened.”

I smiled proudly as I looked away from Zoey. “You’re right. It finally happened, but the truth is that I felt nothing, absolutely nothing.”

I meant it when I said it to both of them and it was such a relief that there was no room for Grayson in my heart and mind.

“Moving on,” I said proudly, wanting to get to the best part of the night.

They glanced at each other when I briefly told them about the cottage, then burst into laughter while covering their mouths.

“Damn, that’s hot!” Ella said. “It make me wanna go back upstairs to my b-”

“Oh, please!” Zoey rolled her eyes, only to say, “Okay, but yes, that’s so hot!”

“You know what?” Ella rubbed the side of my arm with a small smile. “We’re proud of you.”

“So proud!” Zoey squealed. “And hey, I get that the sex was hot and all, but overall, I’m just glad that this didn’t get between you and Maddox. Imagine the two of you being mad at each other before he leaves for his business trip. It’s always better to make up in person and you two made it happen quickly.”

I looked up at the sky like I could picture Maddox and I arguing the previous night. “Me too.”

“Wanna know who’s fucked?” Ella said, making me look back at her. “Grayson! I wonder what Maddox is going to do to him after what happened last night.”

I didn’t even want to think about it. It wasn’t because I couldn’t imagine Grayson being hurt. It was because whatever was going to happen to him wasn’t going to leave me worried about him in any way.

“That’s for Maddox to figure out,” I said confidently, then sighed as I was at peace.

“Had Anna been here, she would’ve actually broken Grayson’s nose or something” Zoey snorted,

I nodded firmly with a chuckle. “That’s what I keep saying, but Anna keeps denying it. Hey, remember how you and Ella would fight over him?”

They instantly got defensive and their voices overlapped as they gently hit me with the small pillows.

I picked up two of the small pillows, gently hitting them back while still teasing them in a small voice about all the things they used to fight about when it came to him.

But the light hearted moment didn’t last as I realized I needed to apologize.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there during one of the most important moments of the party. I’ll also apologize to the twins. I should’v been present when they were cutting that cake.”

Zoey gently rubbed my shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. I’m sure they’ll understand.”

“I was just so mad when I read that article comparing my sister and I. How could Veronica agree to answering those questions?”

Ella scoffed. “Isn’t it obvious that she was enjoying it? She knew that she’d get a reaction out of you and it definitely worked. looking at how you headed upstairs and ended up on Grayson’s lips.”

I shut my eyes with a sigh. “Don’t say that.”

“Got it,” she chuckled.

“Dean called this morning to check on me.”

“Aww.” Zoey placed a hand on her chest. “It’s a good thing he’s nothing like his mom. I mean, can you imagine him being a piece of shit?”

Ella snorted before getting into character of what Dean would’ve been like, had he taken after his mother.

The three of us sat on the patio for a while until the butler personally came over to announce that breakfast was served

As we made our way back inside, Zoey thoughtfully tilted her head. “I’m certain that breakfast will be delicious. But unagine sitting across from Grayson and Tiffany. That’s gonna ruin someone’s appetite.”

“Mr and Mrs Ford won’t be present at the breakfast table,” the butler politely clumed in while looking back “They already left two hours ago in their helicopter.”

The three of us sighed with relief at the same time, then laughed as we shared a knowing look

We were just about to get to the elevator when I received a call from Maddes

“Hey, you, muss me?” I said as soon as I picked up.

He scoffed. “You wish.”
