My house in Larkspur Hills was the ideal place to stay during my three day conference as it was closer to the conference

centre.

The conference had finally come to an end that evening and I was spending one more night in that house before heading back to my main house in the morning.

Just as I was approaching the front yard, my heart skipped a beat at the sight of Harper’s Porsche parked right near the garage section. It was such a pleasant surprise that I was already thrilled before I even saw her.

Her breathing was as heavy as mine as she just stood there and waited for me to make my decision. The first was to turn around and head to the shower, or gently push her down on that bed and bury my face between her legs.

By the time I was done with her, two hours had already gone by.

She was just about to head out of the room when her phone on the bedside table rang. I looked over and noticed Anna s name on the caller ID.

It instantly made me shut my eyes a little because I thought that must’ve been the universe giving me a sign. I had been wanting to tell Harper something about her sister, yet couldn’t bring myself to do it the few times I had tried. That must have been another chance to try again.

She walked over to pick up the call, but just as she reached for the phone, her ringtone stopped.

“I bet she wants to give me an update on the assignment she’s been working on.”

She chuckled and expected me to add to the conversation, but I just sighed.

“Hey, what’s wrong?”

I took a deep breath. “Your sister is going to kill me for this.”

“What are you talking about?” She came over and sat on the edge of the bed

She placed her hands on the sides of my neck and planted kisses all over my face. I was glad I cleared up the situation quickly because the last thing I wanted was for her to lose her bubbly energy that evening.

Then, she rested her forehead against mine and for a few seconds, we closed our eyes in a comfortable silence.

I could feel her breathing return to normal as the tension from a moment ago slowly disappeared.

It was only when she chuckled softly that I opened my eyes.

“What?” I asked.

She moved her head just enough to look at my entire face, her expression so affectionate that I wondered what she wantest

to say.
