The Jilted Alpha (Jaxon and Sable) novel Chapter 33

Sable POV

I have a lot of pent-up energy. Jaxon left me hot and bothered and now I need to expel my anxiousness. I was grateful for the howls alarming us of the rogues. I don’t like seeing the pack get attacked, but right now, it’s the event I am in need of, to calm the hell down.

With all my pent up frustration I pull a shift and Nia lands just after Jaxon who has also pulled a shift. I see Drax, and he is a beautiful wolf. Nia is purring at him, while I’m telling Jaxon I’m quicker and a lead warrior for a reason. He thinks I’m challenging him. I’m not, I just need to exhaust myself. Instead of arguing or bantering with him, so I take of running.

I see Jaxon and Matt behind me and warriors coming. In front of me I could count twelve rogues. This will be easy. Rogues fight dirty but I’m not one to fight fair either. Not with my abilities. I slam my body into the first rogue and I send him flying against a tree. Then I flip and charge at two more rogues that are snarling at me. I clamp my jaw on the neck of one and kick the other one in the chest with my hind legs and sending him hurling over branches as I snap the neck of the one in my grasp.

As I see Jaxon and Matt fighting with warriors, I’m noticing their technique. It’s good but it could be better. Alpha Darius never wanted to deviate from the more traditional warrior type training, so my ideas were usually tabled. But, I can tell Jaxon is clearly open to it based on how he is fighting.

Looking at him is like poetry in motion though. He fights beautifully; definitely like an alpha should fight. I observe that Jaxon and Matt fight like a team. It’s good to see ranked members fighting together. In Dark Flame, the alpha and beta were not smooth fighters. It almost makes me sad to leave them, instead of telling them what I have observed and that they should follow suit. It’s no longer my place now though. Winter Moon is now my home with my mate.

I continue fighting off another rogue and I hear Drax whimper. I whip around to him and there is a rogue that is biting down hard on his hind leg, while Matt fights off two other rogues. There were twelve when we started. Where the hell did another ten come from?

I race over to Jaxon and grab the rogue. I use my ability to control his muscle movements and he shifts back before I snap his neck. I mind link Jaxon, ‘Are you okay?’

‘Yeah, thanks. We need to talk later about your fighting skill.’ He says as he cracks the spine of another rogue.

‘Later. Busy right now.’ I say as I shift back to my human form and duck under a leaping rogue. I extend my claws and gut him. Once he hits the ground, he’s dead. From there another rogue grabs me from behind and clamps down on my shoulder. I let out a loud grunt and use my abilities once again before he can inflict serious injury. I reach over with my extended claw and gouge his eye so he can release me and he falls back whimpering. I take the moment to rip out his throat.

I saw one rogue left and I walked up, pushing my gift to him, not allowing him to move. I grab his neck and look him in the eyes, “Why did so many of you attack us tonight?”

I feel Jaxon’s behind me and I’m pretty sure Matt is with him too. “Start talking,” Jaxon says behind me. I wonder idly if he is behind me, because he is trying to keep me covered. I don’t have a problem with my nakedness and he doesn’t either, so that makes no sense to me.

The rogue isn’t speaking so I start squeezing at his lungs with my mind. “This is going to get painful, very quickly, unless you start talking. Why did so many of you attack us tonight?”

His eyes are laced with fear as he feels his airway constricting. His eyes widen and his breathing is becoming labored as his face starts to change color. “Our contact wants you. Wants you for his collection.”

“What fucking collection?!” I snarl.

“I don’t know. He likes to collect women and said he wants you. He sent us to collect you and bring you back.” He says gasping for air.

“I’m not for anyone’s collection. You tell the sick bastard who is paying you to kidnap me, to have some balls and do it himself. I’ll show him exactly who the hell I am then. Now leave.” I said, releasing my hold on him both physically and mentally and throwing him to the ground.

The rogue gets up and starts running into the woods and as he leaves I turn around and I’m met with a wall of muscle. A very attractive wall of muscle. I look up and Jaxon is looking at me with an eyebrow up and damn it, he is going to get me hot and bothered again. So I step back and then he looks down at my body and his eyes darken with what looks like need.

I giggle from his beard and say, “Shower, pain killers, sleep. That’s all I need.”

“I love your giggling" he says, "but I guess I’m carrying you.” He says and before I can react, he swoops down and puts me over his shoulder and starts walking.

“JAXON! PUT ME DOWN!” I say hitting his back, “JAXON!” I say again.

He is laughing, “I gave you a choice, you clearly wanted me to carry you. You are going to the pack doctor.” He says as he playfully slaps my butt.

In the distance, I see Matt and the warriors laughing. Clearly, they are enjoying this show, so I decide to give them one. One that Jaxon will not forget.

“I said put me down," and I use just a little of my ability to loosen his grip so I can break his hold. Then I slide down, wrap my legs around his waist and throw my weight back to flip him over me and on his back. Then as I straddle him and see he is shocked expression, and I laugh. “The only reason you dropped me before, was because of my shock of realizing you are my mate. Otherwise, you would never beat me in a fight, Jaxon. Now, I’m going to shower, take pain killers and get some sleep.” I lean over and peck his cheek, then whisper in his ear, “Good night.”

I jump off and start walking towards the pack house. I walk past the warriors and Matt and wave to them. “Good night boys. You might want to help Alpha get up. I think he’s still in shock.” I laugh and I make my way to the pack house as their mouths were open and eyes clearly in shock that I just dropped their Alpha. I go up to my room and smile while I shower.

That was fun. I think the look on his face was priceless and will stay in my memory for the foreseeable future.
