The Jilted Alpha (Jaxon and Sable) novel Chapter 35

Jaxon POV

She starts arching her back and one of her hands grabs her breasts. “Jaxon, please. Touch me.”

She’s whispering, breathy, needy, and fuck if I’m not turned on watching her. I know I should leave and not be some creep watching her have a wet dream, but I’m a miserable bastard who is enjoying this too much. Besides, she is always shy around me when we are alone, so this helps me know what she wants later.

“Kiss me.” She whispers, “Please don’t stop.” She’s arching her back and her head is going back into her pillow. Her mouth is dropping open, and no sound is coming out of her mouth. Suddenly, she gasps and sits up. It’s a good thing that the room is dark. Because watching her come in her sleep, while dreaming about me, and smelling her intoxicating arousal is the sexiest fucking thing I have ever witnessed, and I really want to see her do that again.

“Shit. Just great.” She says in a low voice. She gets up from the bed and goes into the bathroom. I hear her turn on the shower, and she is talking to herself.

“Get it together, Sable. So, what if he is gorgeous and smells delicious? You still can’t trust him yet. Don’t be weak.”

Well, she said a whole lot to herself just now, didn’t she? Her resolve is wavering. She thinks I’m gorgeous and likes my scent but doesn’t trust me. I don’t know if I should be happy, offended, worried, or curious about everything she just said. I hear her turn off the shower, and I quietly make my way to her door before she comes out of the bathroom. I stand outside her room and when I hear her bathroom door open, I knock. “Sable?”

“Um, just a minute.” She says.

A couple of minutes later, she opens the door, wearing a blue robe with little teddy bears on it. I smile and chuckle. “You have some interesting choices in clothes.”

“Yeah, it’s comfortable. I was trying to sleep, is there something you need?”

Damn right, there is something I need. I need to bury myself in you. “Yeah, I wanted to check on you and see how your shoulder is doing, also I wanted to know if you would like me to have the kitchen bring up some food?”

“Um, sure. Thanks. My shoulder is fine too.” She says, looking away.

“I’d like to check it myself. May I come in.”

She blushes and her eyes go wide, “That’s not necessary.”

His tone is very detached. I must have hit a sore spot with him. Not sure how. “Thank you. I would appreciate that, um, you, okay?”

“I’m fine.” He says as his eyes glaze over. When he refocuses and looks at me, he says, “Food will be up in ten minutes. I’ll leave you now. Good night.”

He got up and left abruptly. What was that about? Usually, we joke with each other. I kind of like it, even if I get embarrassed. He is so confusing. One minute he jokes with me and puts me over his shoulder, pushes me against a wall and kisses me like he’s starving and the next he is distant and detached. I’m getting whiplash with his mood swings.

‘Nia, what was that about?’

‘I don’t know Sable. Drax says he will be fine but that he needs some space.’

Ten minutes must have passed since there was a knock on the door. The kitchen has brought up some food. A sandwich, chips, and a brownie. It may look like kid food, but actually, that’s all I need tonight. I eat quietly by myself, before going back to bed and fall asleep, wondering what happened.
