The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 412

Nora fiercely hurled the bloody shard of glass several feet across the floor.

She collapsed back into the pool of blood, her hands entirely numb from the excruciating pain.

Panting heavily, her tear-streaked face looked up at the man before her.

With the glass gone, Gideon finally stopped his self-mutilation.

He slowly raised his head, his vacant gaze shifting from his bleeding wrist to Nora's desperate, tear-stained face.

In those bottomless, dark eyes, the terrifying rage and imperious authority he usually commanded were entirely gone.

Gideon stared at her weeping face and her blood-drenched hands.

From those once arrogant, untouchable eyes, massive tears began to fall, splashing into the crimson puddle on the floor.

"Nora..."

Gideon called her name, his voice dry, broken, and heavy with a suppressed sob.

"Give Giselle back to me... Please?"

Nora froze in the blood, staring at him in sheer disbelief.

Tears surged fiercely from the towering man's eyes, dropping one by one onto the back of Nora's hand. They were shockingly hot.

"I'm begging you... Nora, please, can you give my Giselle back? She was only twenty-two... She's so afraid of pain, and it's so dark and cold underground. How is she supposed to survive alone..."

He desperately clung to her clothes, laying every bargaining chip he had before her.

"As long as you give her back to me..."

Gideon pleaded brokenly, completely discarding his dignity as the head of the Hayes Empire. "You can have my life. All my shares in Hayes Group, every property and trust fund in my name, I'll transfer it all to you... I'll give you everything..."

His fingers trembled, his voice laced with bone-deep desperation and fragile hope.

"Didn't you want the title of Mrs. Hayes? You will forever be the lawful matriarch of the Hayes family. I don't want any of it..."
