After dinner, Nora went straight back to the second-floor bedroom.
She washed up and leaned against the headboard, a rehabilitation grip ball in her hand, mechanically performing the muscle recovery exercises left by her physical therapist.
Familiar footsteps sounded outside the door.
Gideon pushed the door open and walked in.
He carried a glass of warm milk, walked over to the bed, and placed it on the nightstand.
"Drink some milk. It'll help you sleep better."
He lowered his eyes, his gaze landing on her right hand as it squeezed the grip ball.
Nora didn't look up, continuing her exercises.
Gideon stood still by the bed, his tall frame blocking some of the light from the wall sconce.
"I've already told my people to cancel the plans for Anya's college arrangement."
He suddenly spoke, his deep, hoarse voice shattering the dead silence of the room.
Nora's fingers paused on the grip ball.
"You don't like me interfering with the people around you, so I won't do it anymore. And I absolutely will not promise her anything ever again."
He looked at her, offering a sincere guarantee.
"I just wanted to share some of the burden. If you want to pay for her schooling yourself, all the cash and bank cards in the study's safe are yours to use anytime."
"The passcode is your birthday."
"Take as much as you want. If it's not enough, I've had the flower shop's accounts restructured. The funds in there are more than enough to cover four years of her tuition and living expenses."
"This money is perfectly clean, with no strings attached. It's all yours."
Nora let go of the grip ball in her hand.
She looked up, meeting his deep eyes with a serene gaze.
"I'll pay for Anya's tuition using the shop's legitimate revenue."
She knew better than anyone how inflated the shop's recent revenue was, but she would only touch the profit generated by normal customer traffic.
Her voice was cold. "As for your money, I won't touch a single cent."
Gideon's heart violently seized.
*Won't touch a single cent.*

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
