The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 530

He could never learn how to truly let go; he only knew how to constantly change his methods to force his presence onto her.

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see when we get there."

Gideon kept it a secret, a hint of anticipation in his voice.

He seemed to be trying to use this as a way to make up for the unpleasantness at the flower shop the day before.

A flash of caution crossed Nora's eyes, but she didn't voice any objections.

She knew very well that under this man's absolute control, her refusal meant nothing.

Rather than wasting her energy on pointless arguments, she might as well observe coldly and see what game he was playing this time.

Without a word, she turned and obediently walked toward the bulletproof black sedan parked in the villa's front courtyard.

Watching her compliant silhouette, a flash of disappointment crossed Gideon's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by deep anticipation.

The sedan pulled smoothly out of the villa, cruising down the town's main road.

Sitting side by side in the backseat, Gideon stole frequent glances at her.

Nora leaned against her seat, her gaze fixed entirely out the window.

The vehicle passed through the town's busiest commercial street, leaving the familiar shops and early-rising locals behind.

They drove south, heading straight toward the sparsely populated outskirts.

As they drove, the buildings on either side of the road grew sparse, replaced by vast stretches of wasteland and abandoned factories.

Nora remembered this area.

There used to be an abandoned theme park here. Rumor had it that years ago, the local government had attracted investors to build it to boost tourism.

But due to broken funding chains and dismal visitor numbers, the park had gone bankrupt and shut down completely a few years back.
