The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 536

"It is really sweet."

Nora stared at him wide-eyed, watching him act as if this were perfectly normal. The heat in her cheeks flared up again uncontrollably.

Gideon looked at her, his eyes carrying a faint smile.

"Eating too much of this is bad for your teeth. If you don't like it, I'll finish the rest."

His shameless logic left Nora rooted to the spot, the biting sarcasm she had prepared dying right in her throat.

She looked at the now-larger bite mark in the candy, then back at his utterly remorseless face, and felt a flare of nameless anger shoot straight to her head.

"You..."

She pointed a finger at him, so furious she could barely speak. "Who told you to eat from where I bit?!"

"I already swallowed it."

He stated it like a simple fact, and then, right in front of her, took another bite from the exact same spot, acting so casual you'd think there was never any bad blood between them.

Seeing him play innocent while taking full advantage of the situation, she bit her lower lip hard, deciding it wasn't worth arguing with him.

No matter what she said right now, he would just throw some high-sounding excuse back at her.

He was no longer the aloof CEO who thought wasting an extra syllable was beneath him.

Right now, he was acting like a completely shameless rogue willing to do anything to get his way.

Expression frozen in an icy glare, she spun around and stalked down the colored brick path. She walked incredibly fast, desperate to escape this sickeningly sweet atmosphere.

With his long legs, Gideon easily caught up to her in a few strides.

They walked in tandem through the empty park.
