The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 538

"Let's take a ride."

Stopping in his tracks, Gideon turned to her.

Clutching the rabbit, Nora stood three feet away from him.

"I'm not riding it."

She rejected the offer without a second thought.

"I want to go back."

"Just stay with me a little longer."

A trace of pleading crept into his voice. "Just a little."

"The Ferris Wheel takes twenty minutes to complete a rotation. Your arms have to be sore from carrying that rabbit around, right?"

His tone softened further.

"There are seats inside. You can set the rabbit down and rest for a bit. We'll leave as soon as the twenty minutes are up."

Nora glanced at an empty passenger cabin slowly descending to the platform. Ultimately, the desire to sit down and rest won out.

The interior of the cabin was much more spacious than it looked from the outside, featuring two leather benches facing each other with a small round table in between.

Sitting down, she immediately dropped the giant white rabbit onto the empty space beside her, effectively using it as a barricade between her and Gideon.

She rubbed her aching arms and turned her head, fixing her eyes on the window.

Gideon sat down on the bench opposite hers, his deep gaze locking onto her profile and refusing to let go.

The ride began its slow ascent.

As they climbed higher, the view expanded.

The layout of the small town sprawled out beneath them, leading to an endless blue coastline where waves crashed violently against the rocks, kicking up white seafoam.

The colorful roofs and the carousel below shrank until they looked like tiny toy blocks.
