She stared at it coldly, without offering even a basic word of inquiry.
He brought this upon himself.
He had insisted on dragging her to this oceanside villa, insisted on playing the role of a savior—these injuries were the price he had to pay.
Gideon paid no attention to his wound. He walked over to the closet, took out a clean set of clothes, and, turning his back to Nora, quickly stripped off his soaked garments.
He roughly towel-dried his hair, walked over to the medical kit, and single-handedly pulled out gauze and antiseptic, pouring the liquid directly onto his arm.
The blinding pain tore a muffled groan from his lips.
Gritting his teeth, he haphazardly wrapped the gauze around the wound a few times, barely managing to staunch the bleeding.
Only after finishing all this did he return to the bedside.
The temperature in the room had begun to plummet sharply following the power outage.
Without the climate control system, the damp, bone-chilling cold of a seaside typhoon seeped in through the cracks in the door, penetrating a person's very bones.
Nora shivered uncontrollably beneath the covers.
The series of devastating blows from two years ago, the lasting toll of her miscarriage, combined with the damp seaside air she had endured since then, made her prone to full-body chills whenever it rained.
Hearing the rustling, Gideon immediately lifted a corner of the blanket and pulled her—covers and all—tightly into his arms.
The man's body heat was staggeringly high; even in this freezing environment, his chest radiated heat like a furnace.
"Let go..."
Nora struggled desperately, using her ruined hands to weakly push against his chest. "Gideon, let me go!"
Gideon tightened his arms, locking her firmly in his embrace.
"No."
Gideon rested his chin on the top of her head. "You're shivering from the cold. I won't let you go."
"I don't need you..."
Nora's voice was laced with tears; she utterly despised this feeling of powerlessness.
"Stay away from me. I think you're filthy. I think you're disgusting!"
Those vicious words stabbed into Gideon's heart like knives.
He absorbed her curses, but the strength in his arms didn't lessen by a fraction.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
