most kissing
The last time Elena had been over so late was after Tyler’s break–in. Massimo vividly re Elena—had they not been interrupted, they surely would’ve kissed. He would’ve been able to feel her soft, supple lips and part them, forcing his tongue to explore as much of her as he could….
Many thoughts prevented Massimo from sleeping soundly.
He didn’t see the point in waking Elena. Instead, Massimo went to his office and began settling the headache of the day before.
It seemed Elena’s half–brother wasn’t entirely useless. The Marino family members were still subdued by the time Massimo’s men arrived at the small suburban house.
The men who had attacked them were apparently members of many different families–all of them wronged by the Marinos. Massimo already had virtual copies of the stories they had told his men. Combined with the ledger Massimo had found, it all painted a damning picture of the Marinos.
It all was too clean. Too perfect.
Why would the Marinos allow themselves to get swayed by a family member who had been out of state for a while? Why give this cousin, James Marino, so much power?
Massimo planned on interrogating the man himself. But he already knew what James Marino would say.
This mess had Tyler Morello’s fingerprints all over it. It was just like when Tyler used other mafia men to kidnap
Elena.
Tyler might finally be staying true to the terms of the mafia council’s ruling, but if Tyler couldn’t cause trouble in New York, it seemed like the snake would just create trouble elsewhere.
Massimo sighed. He’d first need to deal with the Marinos. Preferably, he would extract James‘ confession while Elena was still asleep–she didn’t need to see him violently interrogate the man.
But once everything with these deal–breakers was done, Massimo would settle the score wit
Elena woke up earlier than expected. Sure, it was almost noon, but considering how late she had arrived at the Ferraro estate, she had expected to sleep in even later. She was surprised Massimo hadn’t woken her up to deal with some medical emergency or another–those always seemed to happen at the worst time.
Elena quickly got dressed. Massimo had allowed her to stay in the same guest room she had used before. The space was starting to feel familiar and cozy–and Elena wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.
As soon as she was presentable, Elena hurried to Massimo’s office. She was sure he was already hard at work.
Massimo was, in fact, already busy with paperwork. Elena wordlessly began to help him.
Despite not saying anything, the atmosphere in the office was comfortable, not tense. Elena felt like she was working with an equal as she and Massimo tackled Massimo’s work. The fact that Elena had helped Luca fill in for the Don of All Dons made it much easier for her to confidently assist Massimo.
“Tyler’s really becoming a problem,” Elena said idly as she looked at the notes from James Marinos‘ confession. Massimo must have acted quickly to get such thorough information–had he even slept at all last night?

Massimo only grunted.
Elena frowned as she read more. James had been used by Tyler, like countless other mafia members and civilians. He believed Tyler’s lies, and now so many people were hurt.
