Chapter 228
Massimo checked his watch. It would take a few minutes to get to the new dont sestes mero pund so he phone and called Gavino.
“Boss,” Gavino greeted cheerily he must not have heard about ‘Tyler’s visit to New York “Wow goes, ”
“It’d go better if you had some good news,” Massimo replied, “What have you figued of a fair
“There’s a couple good rumors,” Gavino reported. “Namely, that he’s been baying, op land on the border of Massachusetts. I’ll send you a map real quick.”
Massimo’s phone buzzed. He looked at the image Gavino attached,
“That’s the land he’s been buying?” Massimo asked,
“Yes, boss,” Gavino replied. “And I’m sure you already noticed, but that puts Tyler on the border of New York* “Oh, I notice,” Massimo spat.
Massimo frowned as he looked at the map. This was the closest land Tyler could buy that would grant him a straight shot to the Ferraro estate. That couldn’t be a coincidence.
Was Tyler preparing to storm the Ferraro estate? Was that idiot snake really thinking about declaring war?
“You said this was all just rumors though?” Massimo pressed.
“Yes,” Gavino replied. “The only real proof I have is that Tyler has been shopping around Maine and getting a lot of furniture. I’ll send over the receipts I dug up.”
Another buzz from Massimo’s phone. Massimo quickly skimmed through the list.
“There’s definitely a feminine touch here and there,” Massimo remarked.
“I thought so, too,” Gavino said. “Looks like his mystery lady friend is still around.”
It definitely seemed like it. From Massimo’s perspective, it looked like Tyler might be building a new stronghold fit for war–one that his woman would visit. But that didn’t make a lot of sense unless….
Unless Elena was right, and the mystery woman wasn’t Tyler’s lover but an advisor. With that in mind, looking at the list of purchased goods-
Massimo was startled out of his thoughts by a knock at his window.
“We’ve arrived, sir,” Luca said, opening the don’s door.
Massimo sighed. “Thanks, Gavino,” he said hurriedly. “You’ve been a big help.”
Without another word, Massimo hung up. He pocketed his cell phone and exited the limo.
Meanwhile, Elena and the maid returned to the estate. They were quickly told that visiting hours would be over. Like Elena had predicted, the doctors had to run many more tests on Matteo now that he was awake.
Elena was a little worried, but Matteo seemed alright. The main concern of any medical team right now would be

muscle atrophy as well as any cognitive problems. Unfortunately, only time would tell if Matteo was suffering from any of that.
Elena ate dinner alone–Massimo wouldn’t be back until late. But as she ate, Elena decided to text her husband It wasn’t anything major, but it still brought a smile to her face to talk about just small parts of her day with him.
“That coworker of yours sounds like a gossip,” Max replied. “Be careful around her–you never know what stories she’ll tell about you to others when you’re not looking.”
“It’s fine,” Elena texted back. “Anyways, how was your day?”
“Long. And it’s about to get longer. But there’s one good thing.”
“What?”
“I’ve got a new plan for our next date.”
On a whim, Elena decided to call Max. She was surprised he actually picked up! But that surprise was quickly tempered by the fact he didn’t say a word.
“Max?” she greeted. Nothing. “Hello?”
