Chapter 55
As soon as the words left Elena’s mouth, her anger started to leave her. Why was she calling out her friend like this? Outside of her husband’s own house?
Didn’t Elena have any shame or tact? She was better than this.
“Aria, listen,” Elena began, ready to apologize, “I didn’t mean-”
Aria burst out laughing. This wasn’t delicate little giggles either–Aria clutched her stomach as her whole body laughed. There were even tears running down her cheek.
Elena could only stare at her friend in confusion. Eventually, Aria settled back down.
“Sorry, El, you’re just too precious,” Aria explained.
“I don’t think that’s right,” Elena said, still thrown by her friend’s odd behavior.
“No, it’s just–I already told Massimo about my sleeping habits,” Aria said.
If Elena was shocked before, her whole mind was collapsing now.
“What do you mean you already told him?” Elena asked.
That didn’t make any sense. So many loose mafia women had thrown themselves at Massimo–and they never had any success. It was partially why there were so many rumors Don Ferraro didn’t like women.
So why was he still with Aria after learning about her sexual appetite?
“Of course,” Aria responded, like she was confirming a simple fact. “I mean, I want this marriage to last, and that can’t happen if you’re hiding stuff from your partner.”
“So you told him everything?” Elena pressed. “Even about how you’ve kept up dating other men since you’ve gotten married?”
Aria looked bashful. “I mean, I didn’t want to get into this since you’re such a prude, El, but I kind of have a much higher sex drive than Massimo. And while he’s definitely hung like a horse, he doesn’t quite know how to use right
Elena held up a hand. “Stop, please. You don’t need to be so graphic.“,
“Right, right, you probably don’t want to hear all that about your boss.” Aria giggled. “But yeah, he knows–he even encourages me to have fun nights on the town.”
Elena furrowed her brow. None of this made any sense. Aria and Massimo were just too different–their relationship shouldn’t logically work.
Massimo was a workaholic. Aria needed constant attention.
Massimo was a strict planner who often hid his emotions. Aria was a spontaneous soul who wore her heart on her sleeve.
Massimo was serious and stern, but kind when the situation called for it. After all, he had cupped Elena’s face so gently before he almost kissed her-
Elena shook her head. She needed to focus.
“Have you even thought about what Massimo just told you?” Elena asked. “Massimo is the head of the Ferraro

family–he’s the Mafia King. He has all kinds of enemies.”
“Like, I get that it’s dangerous and scary,” Aria agreed, “but being the Mafia King is part of Massimo. He’s already seen all of me and accepted everything. So it’s only fair I take his identity as t1
