Blinding, searing pain exploded across Audrey's cheek the moment the slap landed. Her ears rang, and her vision briefly went black.
Her cheek swelled instantly, the skin burning as if it were on fire. She could vividly feel the raised outline of a handprint forming on her face. A metallic, coppery taste flooded her mouth.
Rainey's perfectly manicured nails had even broken her skin, leaving a thin, stinging trail of blood.
Gasps erupted around them.
Nora cried out in alarm.
Looking at Audrey's battered state, a flash of twisted satisfaction flickered in Rainey's eyes. But she wasn't done. With a flick of her wrist, she hurled the contents of a steaming cup right at Audrey's face!
It happened too fast. By the time anyone processed what was going on, the scalding dark coffee was already dripping from Audrey's hair. The burning liquid seeped into her skin, bringing a bone-deep, agonizing sting. Her hair clung wetly to her blistering face, leaving her in a completely humiliating state.
"Oh my god..."
Stifled gasps echoed across the set.
Rainey smiled, immensely pleased with her handiwork. She tossed the empty cup onto the ground and sneered, "You're fired, you useless piece of trash! If I ever see your face again, I'll beat you to a pulp!"
Audrey slowly looked up, meeting Rainey's arrogant glare.
Rainey's red lips curled. "Cross me, and I'll make you wish you were dead."
