Audrey frowned. "What did you find?"
"A photo of you and your parents!" Arthur chuckled. "It looks like the one taken when you were six, when you won that children's ballet competition. The three of you are holding the trophy! Do you want this or not? If you do, you'd better come get it right now."
Audrey's heart tightened. "Okay, I'm coming right now!"
Her parents had never been fond of taking pictures, so she had very few photos with them. She had searched everywhere for that specific competition photo but had never been able to find it. It turned out it had been left behind in their old house.
"Great!" Arthur's laugh took on a sinister edge. "You have thirty minutes to get here, or it goes straight into the shredder!"
It was exactly a thirty-minute drive from Silveridge Movie World to the Sinclair Villa. Audrey hastily borrowed an oversized T-shirt from Nora and rushed out.
Just as she reached the curb and pulled out her phone to call a cab, a sleek black car sped dangerously close to her. The tires plowed through a muddy puddle, splashing filthy water all over her jeans and shirt.
"Hey! Watch where you're driving!" Nora yelled, rushing over with wet wipes to help clean the mud off.
Through the speeding car's rearview mirror, Nora caught a glimpse of a familiar face. "Leona?"
Audrey looked up. "What?"
Nora scowled at the disappearing car. "The driver was Rainey's agent, Leona Quinn! I saw her lurking near the set earlier and thought it was weird since Rainey had already left. She stayed behind just to pull this dirty trick!"
She looked at Audrey's ruined clothes. "What do we do? We don't have any spare clothes here. Do you want to go home and change first?"
Audrey frowned. Just as she was about to speak, a black cab pulled up.
The driver rolled down the window. "Who called for a ride?"
