Chapter 108
Theo nudged me, and I jolted back from my drooling and quickly shifted into my wolf.
After I shifted, Theo looked at me with delight.
Then, we began the pack run.
We ran from the pack house through the forest and ended at the patrol on the outskirts of the border.
Then, we turned and made our way back to the pack with Theo and me leading.
When we got close to the pack, my wolf suddenly felt dizzy, and her falter gave way. Before I knew what was happening. I blacked out.
***
When I came around, a doctor was attending to me, and Theo was by my side. He looked like he was about to lose his mind.
“How long has she been fainting like this?” The doctor asked Theo, who was holding my hand.
I had shifted back to my human form and was covered with a blanket.
Theo didnt notice that I had come around yet.
“I have no idea, but I was told she had collapsed once before,” Theo replied, and the doctor scribbled something down.
I tugged at Theo’s shirt, and he looked down at me. He was happy to see me come around.
“Blue eyes, you scared me to death, ” he muttered, kissing my knuckles. “Never do that again. I can’t lose you”
My throat was dry, I cleared my throat and attempted to speak, but I was too weak to do so.
Not only that, my body was weak and a little heavier than I remembered.
“Do you feel pain anywhere, Lady Kaia?” the doctor asked me, and I struggled to answer.
“My head is in pain and my lower back too,” I replied slowly.
“It’s okay, Lady Kaia,” The doctor said. “That’s what happens a lot after a long run”
I nodded, and my eyes drooped; I was slowly falling asleep.
My body was covered in cold sweat from the heat radiating from me.
“What’s going on with her?” Theo asked, his voice cracked with worry. “Why isn’t she waking up? Is something wrong with my wife?”
I wanted to tell him to calm down, but I couldn’t speak; my throat was dry and hurting, and I was too sick to force myself.
Theo kissed my knuckles and forehead, then ran his finger along my neck, checking my temperature.
He looked frustrated. I tried to smile to ease his mind, but it came out faint, barely enough for him to see it.
“Kaia, please stay with me,” Theo urged me. I nodded. “Nothing will happen to you, you’ll be fine, I promise”
I nodded, assuring him I was with him and I heard everything he said.

“Im going to take some blood samples for a test, please,” the doctor said, and took my blood.
I didn’t feel the needle pricking me. Maybe it was the pain or the fever.
“Did she eat anything? Throw up or generally was moody for some reason?” the doctor asked again.
“Yes, she ate something before the run. And I didnt see her throw up, nor was she moody” Theo looked at me when he answered, amd I nodded to affirm his statement.
“Thats alright,” he said. “I will need to run a quick urine test. Would you please”
“Sure, I will take her,” Theo said, and lifted me from the bed, taking me to the bathroom to pee.
I was burning up, and I could see the heat crawling out of my body as I peed.
I was struggling to stand. When I stood up after peeing, I staggered and almost fell. Thank goodness Theo was there to catch and hold me.

Theo took me back to bed and got the urine sample to the doctor.
The doctor took the container with my urine and moved away. Then he took out a test strip, inserted it into the urine, and placed it on a flat surface.
I couldn’t understand what he was doing. I was burning up, and he was playing around.
After a while, the doctor turned to look at Theo and me, smiling. I was confused about what was making him smile.
“Congratulations, Alpha Theo. Lady Kaia is pregnant,” the doctor said.
My eyes widened in shock. I couldn’t believe it at first, heck, not even after minutes had passed.
“W-what are you saying, doctor?” Theo was as shocked as I was; he stuttered, struggling to say anything. “Pregnant? Kaia is pregnant?”
The doctor affirmed, and Theo clasped his hands over his face.
Then, he leaned in and hugged me gently, careful not to hurt me.
I could see the happiness on his face; it was too evident to hide.
“Why is she sick? Is the baby hurting her? Is that why she’s sick?” Theo turned to ask the doctor.
“No, these are just early signs of pregnancy. And her body might have been reacting to something she ate,” the doctor replied, but Theo was convinced. “But don’t worry, Alpha, I have taken her blood samples, I will run a few tests and see if there is anything else wrong with her. But, for now, it’s the pregnancy”,
“I have injected a mild sedative into her IV. It will help her sleep, and when she wakes up, she will feel better.”
I heard the doctor say while my eyes struggled to stay open.
It was a pack run night, and I was supposed to be celebrating with everyone else. I shouldn’t be left in my room while others
celebrate.
“Doctor, I have to go outside for the pack run feast, I can’t sleep yet”, I managed to say, and the doctor looked at me like I was
crazy.
“Lady Kaia, you are not well enough for that. Please get some rest”, he insisted.
“I dont want to,” I said, and pouted my lips.

“It’s okay, doctor. I can fix the IV to her later if you think it’s safe,” Theo suggested, and the doctor agreed.
The doctor removed the IV, and Beta Zane walked him out of the room.
Justine stood at the door, her eyes glistening with tears, and my heart warmed at the sight of her.
She was the only friend I have now, and seeing her so happy for me made life worth living.
“Congratulations, Kaia, I’m so happy for you” Juatine ran into my arms and gently hugged me.
“Thank you, Justine,” I muttered weakly. “This is all thanks to your care”

“No, of course, not!” Justine exclaimed, wiping a tear from her eye. “It’s all you and the alpha. The sleepless nights of lovemaking paid off”
When she said this, I covered my face, feeling shy.
We chatted about the baby, deciding what to get her and all that nonsense that wasn’t supposed to come into play until after I gave birth.
But we were too excited to think logically.
“Shall we, blue eyes?” Theo asked, picking out my clothes. “They are all waiting for us”
I knew who he meant. It’s the pack members.
They must be eager to break the bread for the feast, but I happened to collapse in front of them, so they must be worried about me instead of the sumptuous meal they came for.
“Yes, let’s go. I’m ready,” I came out after dressing up.
Theo took my hand and led me to the garden where the feast was held.
When we got there, everyone stood up to welcome us, showing Theo and me great respect.
Except for Cara, who sat there eating away without a care in the world.
Theo and I exchanged glances. I nodded at him, permitting him to do what he planned to.
“Good evening, everyone,” Theo began, grabbing the pack members’ attention. “Im happy to have everyone of you here tonight to celebrate the New Moon as well as the pack run feast”
Theo looked at me, smiling like a man in love.
“This year is very special, I’m not celebrating alone this time. I have my beautiful mate, Kaia, with me”
That earned the pack members’ applause, as they hooted and clapped for us.
It’s wild how fast things changed. A few months ago, they judged and hated me, and I don’t blame them. And now they were hooting for me.
“Amd now, there is an addition to our family,” Theo paused and breathed. “Kaia and I are expecting a baby. Lady Kaia is pregnant”
Hearing this, the audience burst into loud applause nonstop for a good three minutes.
Cara sharply turned to look at me, as if the news was too good to be true.
I felt the same way, too. Everyone in Silvermokn thought I was barren. How could I possibly be pregnant? Impossible.

Chapter 108
I touched my flat belly, feeling my invisible baby bump.
After the people calmed down, the feast finally began in full, and people were eating to their heart’s content.
During the celebration, Kingsley came up to me.
“Congratulations, Kaia”, Kingsley said and hugged me. He looked happy, holding back tears.
“Thank you, Kingsley”, I said, hugging him back. “You’re going to become a grandpa. How do you feel?”
Il vouche
“I feel ecstatic, it honestly feels so surreal”, Kingsley said, looking at me. “I wish Mariela were here to see this day; to watch her son become a father while she helped his mate overcome pregnancy”
I moved closer to him, patted his shoulder and hugged him. I saw that he was getting emotional.
“Im sure, she’s watching us right now”, I muttered, and Kingsley agreed. She’s very proud of the man Theo has become, even when she wasn’t here to help him”
“Even when I was alive, I wasn’t here to help him either”, Kingsley pointed out. “Mariela will never forgive me.”
“It wasn’t your fault, Kingsley”, I said, trying to make him feel better. “You got drowned in your sorrow, you didn’t purposely abandon him”
“Still, I did, there is no excuse for that”, Kingsley said.
“The goddess has given you a chance to make up for the mistake you made,” I said, and he looked at me, confusion flickering in his eyes.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“This is your chance to help Theo become the father you couldn’t become for him,” I said. “Teach him what he should know. what he should and shouldn’t do. This way, he won’t repeat your mistakes, and you’ll make up for the mistakes”
“Thank you, Kaia. You’re truly the epitome of kindheartedness and grace”
“It’s nothing,” I mouthed.
After a while, I couldn’t take it anymore. My eyes were getting heavier and heavier. It seemed the sedative entered my system and was making me sleepy.
Theo took me back to our room, and I didn’t know how long I stayed awake for.
Because the next thing I knew, I was snoring loudly
