The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 124

Chapter 124

— Theo–

Time flew by quickly.

:

And it was finally time to leave for the Nightshade pack.

Kaia and I got our things together, and the attendants picked them up and took them to our ride.

We would be taking the jet along with Zane and Justine.

Kaia walked out of the house with Maliya. She was wearing a long sundress that made her look like sunshine. Justine followed her, and they waited while I spoke with Kingsley.

Kaia wanted to bring Maliya along, she claimed she was the only person she was comfortable with, who could look after her while on the trip and would be needing her help

I thought so as well. Maliya was with her when nobody else was on her side. It’s only fair that she keep someone who loved her unconditionally with her.

We decided to bring Maliya, and Maliya is excited about it, too.

Knowing everything the young lady has been through, I was glad this trip would take her mind off things for while.

Maliya helped Kaia into the ride, and I stopped, waiting for Kingsley.

“Zane, is everything ready?” I asked Zane, who came to my side.

“I believe everything we’d need is packed, and if we forget anything, we can always send someone to get it”, Zane said, and I nodded. He was right.

The Nightshade pack wasn’t that far from Shadowclaw if we go by jet.

“Great!” I muttered. “Go ahead, the ladies are waiting. I will be there. I need to have a quick word with Kingsley”

Zane nodded and walked away to give us privacy.

Once we were alone, Kingsley smiled and patted my shoulder.

“Son, look after Kaia on your trip. She’s pregnant, and that makes her very vulnerable,” Kingsley advised. I nodded. I planned to take his advice seriously.

The doctor also advised the same thing when she checked up on Kaia yesterday evening.

“I plan to do so, thanks for your concern, though”, I mouthed.

Lately, I had been feeling a strange sensation, the one I had whenever it was my mother’s death anniversary.

It was a reminder that she had been failed; everyone failed to save her from that monster ended her life.

And when I saw Kingsley, all the anger and resentment I had held in my heart came crashing down.

Despite my attempts to keep a good relationship with him, I still felt resentment towards him for letting my mother die in cold blood.

I know it wasn’t his fault; he wouldn’t intentionally let anything happen to his mate, but I wished he hadn’t left her alone. I wished he wasn’t looking for another child.

If she weren’t pregnant, she would still be alive now.

“Theo, son, is there something you want to say to me?” Kingsley asked, moving closer to me, his gaze lingered on mine.

“I have nothing to say to you, Dad” I looked away.

I don’t want to talk about it, especially not now when I’m going on a trip with my mate. I can’t get distracted by whatever he would tell me.

“I wanted to talk to you about a parcel I’m expecting, it’s from Silvermoon pack, and it’s a very important one. I need you to retrieve and keep it safe until my return.” I instructed, and Kingsley nodded thoughtfully.

“Don’t worry, I will take care of everything while you’re away”, Kingsley assuringly said. “Enjoy your trip and be careful while out there, look after each other”

“Sure, you too, and keep your mate from messing in my pack’s affairs. I will not be lenient if I find out she did something wrong in my absence,” I warned, looking towards Cara, who wasn’t paying attention to us.

I know she was still mad about Lucien being sent to Seeland; knowing her, she might try to get back at me, and I can’t allow it.

“Cara will not do anything stupid, I assure you,” Kingsley said.

“I’d hope so,” I turned to leave. “Please work with my Gamma to keep the pack afloat and inform me immediately if anything goes wrong”

“I will, Theo”, Kingsley said. “Go on, they are waiting”, he pointed towards our ride, and I looked towards it as well.

“Very well, then”, I mouthed and walked away.

When I got into the ride, the three of them were chatting about something, and I got curious.

“What are the three of you gossiping about? I want to hear it too,” I said, leaning in to be let in on the curiosity-killing gossip.

“It’s Elara,” Justine said, and Kaia’s eyes stayed glued on mine.

I think she was afraid I would get annoyed, but I wasn’t. I was only curious

:

“What about her? Has she done something like she always does?” I asked, slightly clenching

I hoped and prayed in my head that Elara hadn’t done anything to hurt Kaia and my baby. I would ma feel pain until she begs for death.
