Three hours later, the captain announced our arrival, and I couldn’t be more pleased that the journey was finally over.

I woke Kaia up while the plane was preparing to land. We got really and stepped out the minute we landed.

Kaia stretched her limbs, yawning as she took in the view of the Nightshade pack airport.

“The place is beautiful,” Justine commented, looking around.

When we stepped out, a chauffeur was waiting to take us to the packhouse. Alpha Mathew must have sent it; he had made transportation arrangements to ease the stress of the guests, and I was glad he did, one less thing to worry about.

In less than ten minutes, we arrived at the pack mansion, and everywhere was decked out to the nines.

One could easily tell there would be a celebration.

Zane and Justine got down first, then Maliya. I held Kaia’s hand and helped her get out of the car.

She looked at the place, and her brows knitted.

Before I could ask her what the matter was, I saw my godfather, Alpha Mathew Nighshade, walking towards us, happily.

“Theo, my boy!” He came to embrace me,” You made it. I thought you wouldn’t make it”

“Of course, I wouldn’t miss this for anything in the world”, I said, patting his back while we embraced.

When we broke the embrace, Alpha Mathew was laughing and patting my shoulders like a proud father, and I couldn’t stop smiling.

“You are a grown man now,” he said, looking me up and down. “The last time we saw each other, you didn’t have any beards. Now, look at you!”

“You’re too funny, godfather,” I chuckled. “It’s been five years since then, I grew some muscles and beards, you can say I’m a

man now”

“Certainly!” Alpha Mathew nodded. “You are an alpha now, too, munning your own pack. I’m proud of you, son, and I’m sure Mariela feels the same, too”

At the mention of my mother, my heart rippled with pain, but I masked it. I couldn’t ruin the moment.

When I turned back, I saw Kaia staring intently at the alpha. I go scared that he might take offence. I moved back and clasped Kaia’s hand, jolting her out of her trance.

“Alpha,” I called out to him. “This is Kaia, my mate and soon-to-be Luna”, I introduced, and the alpha’s eyes fell on Kaia.

The Alpha’s eyes lingered on Kaia for a minute, and I saw his face twitch with confusion.

“Nice to meet you, Lady Kaia,” he said, extending his hand to shake Kaia, who obliged. “You are gorgeous. Theo is fortunate to have you”

“I’ve heard so much about you, it’s nice to meet you finally, Alpha,” Kaia said, bowing her head to pay her respects.

“You heard so much about me?” He asked, and Kaia shook her head. “Interesting, I hope I made a good first impression on you and dispel whatever you heard about me”

“I still can’t tell Alpha, but let’s see how it goes”, Kaia muttered. I couldn’t understand what she meant.

“This Zane Westmore, my beta and his mate, Justine”, I introduced, pointing to the couple.

Zane and Justine greeted him, Boeing, respectfully.

“Bad manners, I’m so sorry, I got carried away and forgot to usher you guys in” Alpha Mathew apologised and led us into a massive living area.

The omegas served us tea and biscuits; we ate, and later we were taken to our apartment.

The alpha had arranged for hotels for every other pack coming for the tournament, but he kept an apartment for me because of our familial ties, and I was grateful for this Favouritis.

I couldn’t imagine Kaia staying in a hotel while she’s pregnant; it wasn’t healthy.

We settled in our room, showered and got changed into something more comfortable for the day.

We were having dinner with the alpha’s family, and they wanted to treat us to celebrate Kaia and me getting together.

It was finally my chance to meet Auntie Morgana after all these years. I was excited.

I tied my hair in a ponytail and was about to grab my phone when I saw that Kaia wasn’t with me; she was lost somewhere.

I walked up and stood behind her. She was startled a bit, which meant she was deep in thought, and I wondered what she was thinking about.

She relaxed her head on my chest when she realised it was me. I caressed her face to calm her down.

Then, I put my hand on her belly; it was flat, but our baby was in there, and that made my heart ripple with joy.

I leaned in, kissing her neck and taking in her scent. It was intoxicating, and I loved every bit of it.

Stash was dancing in my head, urging me to claim Kaia as our mate and make us complete.

I fought back, stopping myself.

We are not fated, and I can’t risk our bond not forming if I don’t wait until the red moon before I claim her.

After the tournament, we would go straight to getting married and mating under the red moon.

I smiled, thinking of this.

“Love, what is the matter? Are you okay?” I asked, stroking her hair.

She nodded without looking at me.

“I’m okay, it must be jet lag, coupled with the pregnancy, I feel so tired and drained”, Kaia breathed, and I could understand.

Being pregnant and travelling must be so exhausting, and I felt bad that I put her through it.

She gently broke away from me to do her makeup. She wanted to look presentable for later when she met my auntie Morgana and the Lady of the South, Luna Morgana Nightshade.

Luna Morgana is a very stern and disciplined woman, and she runs the pack alongside her husband with firm authority.

I was sure Kaia would get along really well with her; they are bo no-nonsense people.

They would enjoy each other’s company, I’m sure.

After a while, Kaia turned to me, twirling.
