I had gone out to meet my mother that night. I thought I would pend the night, but my father’s nagging wouldn’t let me stay. I called Miguel to say that I was returning to our apartment. He didn’t return my calls, so I texted him to let him know I was calling back.
He didn’t reply to my text either. I was worried.
I took a bus back to Nightshade that night, thinking he was in trouble or probably busy with work.
He had told me that his father was pressuring him to take responsibility, as he would take over the pack as Alpha once his father stepped down.
I was happy because that was exactly what I wanted.
For Miguel to become the alpha of the biggest pack on the continent, and I become his Luna.
When he didn’t spend time with him, I wasn’t bothered. I pushed him to train harder, and he did, or so I thought.
On my way back, I got him his favourite food and wine.
When I got to our house, I felt an eerie feeling; it was disturbing but I swallowed and ignored it, hoping to find my boyfriend and get wrapped up in his arms.
I saw the front door was left wide open when I arrived, and the living room was dishevelled, with Miguel’s clothes and a female dress that wasn’t mine scattered everywhere.
My stomach flipped, I realised what was going on, and I couldn’t stomach it.
I rushed to the door, slamming my fists on it hard. I wanted to break it down, but I wasn’t strong enough to do that.
The painful part? Miguel didnt come out of the room.
I could hear them fucking and moaning the roof down while I stayed in front of the door, crying my eyes out.
I was heartbroken, and I couldn’t be consoled.
I sat there and cried. I was mad at him.
I left everything to be with him, and this is how he treated me?
I couldn’t lose him. What would I do?
I can’t go back to Theo; I rejected him for Miguel because he was weak and less powerful.
Whereas Miguel was the total package, he was strong, rich and the future Alpha of the most powerful pack in the whole
continent.
When I woke up the next morning, I had a terrible body and a badache caused by my crying.
Crying makes me sick, and he knew it, and he still did this to me
I went to the living room, and Miguel and his whore weren’t out of the room yet. I shook my head in self-pity.
Miguel walked into the living room, saw me, and said nothing; instead, he went to the kitchen to make cereal.
Our eyes met, and he looked away immediately.

I could not see a trace of guilt in his eyes; he didnt seem remors ful for what he did.
I was mad and followed him into the kitchen. I wanted to confront him, and so I did.

My heart was in so much, and my body wasn’t in a better condition either. My whole world was shattered, but I refused to let his disrespect go unanswered.
“What are you doing, Miguel?” I asked, and he ignored me.
He was pouring the cereals into a bowl. He heard my question bit said nothing, and that annoyed me even more.
“Miguel….Miguel,” I felt insulted, and my ego couldn’t take it.
He turned to look at me, he sighed as if tired of my drama, and felt ridiculous.
“What? Why are you shouting?” he asked, facing me. He had a lipstick stain on his neck, and I felt jealous.
“You locked me out of our bedroom,” I mouthed. “And you are fucking another woman in our house?”
“So what?” he snapped, looking pissed. “What if I was fucking another bitch in the apartment? It’s my place, and I’m paying for it”
“Is that what you have to say?” I muttered in disbelief.
“What do you want me to say?” he asked, and I almost chuckled at my own pathetic situation. “I fucked another woman. Yes, I’m an alpha heir, I have needs. You know how most Alphas are,ne woman is not enough for us”
My tears fell freely; his words broke my heart, and I couldn’t ho them back.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, and I felt stupid. “Every Alpha is entitled to one mate until his fated dies, then he can get a second chance at a mate. Since when is an alpha not satisfied with one woman?”
I looked at him, hoping he’d come up with a combing excuse, but he wasn’t trying to pacify me; he was showing me my place.
“Since I decided that one woman isn’t enough for me, Elara”, Miguel blatantly stated, breaking me more. “Im going to have as many women as I want, Elara. Either you are onboard with it, or you can leave”
When I heard this, I chuckled maniacally.
Nothing was funny, but I couldn’t help myself. My pathetic situation was funnier than any joke I’ve ever heard.
“You are joking, right, Miguel?” I asked.
“Oh, you wish I was, but I’m dead serious, and you need to be to,” Miguel returned to making the cereal.
I wanted to press him further, but I heard a soft voice calling us him from behind.
“Miggy, darling, what is taking you so long?” his sidepiece said, walking towards us.
She even had a nickname for him.
The girl looked as if she couldn’t hurt a fly when she was shattering my heart into pieces.
“Sorry, baby, I was distracted by someone causing a scene” Mig kissed her lips. “Hold on, I’ll just make your breakfast”
While Miguel made breakfast, the girl looked at me, smiling, and I felt nothing but disdain for her.
“Darling,” she hugged Miguel’s back with her eyes glued to me. Who is this lady? Is she the new maid you got?”
