Chapter 134
“Please come inside,” Alpha Mathew led the way, and I followed,
I admired his office, which was massive and lavishly furnished.
755 youchers
“I wanted to give this to you,” I stretched my hand. “It’s a gift from my mate and me to you and the Luna, please accept it”
Alpha Mathew took it and glanced at it before dropping it on his table.
“Thank you, Morgana and I appreciate your generosity”, Alpha Mathew humbly said.
His humility took me aback. An alpha of his status acting this way was unheard of.
“This is nothing big, Alpha,” I smiled.
The alpha chuckled and patted my shoulders repeatedly, like a father to his son, and it warmed my heart.
I remember when I was much younger, I would come to his pack with my mother, and he would play with his kids and me while our mothers chatted.
He was sweet and a little scary when he got angry.
“You’re such a humble man, Theo” Mathew patted my shoulder once more. “I was telling Morgana that it would be better if we took you for sightseeing together during or after the games”
“That would be great, Alpha”, I said, and he nodded.
“What would you be talking about with Theo, father?” Katya asked from behind, and I turned to look. “Wouldn’t it be better if someone of his own age took him for sightseeing instead?” She asked.
“Oh, I see!” the alpha exclaimed, almost amused. “You’re calling me old, aren’t you, you little brat!”
“I’m not calling you old, alpha Mathew Nightshade,” Katya said, clicking her tongue. “You’re old!”
She said, chuckling, and Alpha Mathew tried to catch her. They ran around the place for a while.
I was touched by the relationship they shared, and I realised I never had this kind of bond with my father.
We were enemies who avoided each other until Kaia came into our lives and helped mend our relationship.
Despite that, I still felt something was missing, and I couldn’t place my hand on what it was.
“Mathew,” Luna Morgana called out, opening the door. “What are you two doing? Theo is here, and the two of you are running after each other like wild ducks”
I smiled. “I don’t mind, Luna”
“Of course, you wouldn’t mind”, she scoffed. “Katya, go out and take care of the guests. Who knows, your mate might be out there, waiting for you”
Katya frowned.
“Oh, stop it, mother!” She looked a little annoyed. “Who said I was looking for my mate? He didn’t come five years ago; why would he show up now?”
“Well, you might never know. Just go out already!” Luna Morgana urged and tugged at Katya’s hand, pushing her out.

I couldn’t help laughing subconsciously.
When Katya was gone, the place grew quiet, and I felt a little awkward; my legs jittered and twitched.
“Theo,” Luna Morgana held my hand. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you for a while now. I couldn’t bring it up last night because your mate was there, and I had no idea if it was right to ring it up in front of her”
“Yes, Theo, Morgana is telling the truth”, Alpha Mathew chimed in. “We reached out to you through letters many times, and we never got replies; we assumed you didn’t want to hear from
I could already guess where this was going. I frowned in surprise because I didn’t get any letter.
“When it happened, I felt it was my duty as your godmother to ach out and apologise for what those two did to you. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get through to you,” she moved closer, her eyes were filled with hurt. “Im sorry for what Miguel did to you, son”
Soon, her tears spilt from her eyes; she looked heartbroken, and was hurt too.
It wasn’t her fault; she shouldn’t be apologising for something she didn’t do.
“Auntie, I wouldn’t appreciate you breaking down in tears and apologising with your hands folded in front of me.” I cupped her hands, pulling them away from my face. “It’s not your fault. Besides, it’s all in the past now. I’m happy with my mate, Kaia. I’ve never been this happy in my whole life”
Luna Morgana shook her head repeatedly with tears still falling from her eyes. She smiled at me, happy that I had found Kaia, someone who made my life so much better.
“I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you this happy, Theo”, she kissed my forehead, and I was instantly reminded of my mother.
My mother would always kiss my forehead and tell me how proud she was of me when I was a child. I longed for that kind of affection again, and my godmother giving that to me was something I hadn’t expected.
“Still, we apologise, please find it in your heart and forgive us”, Alpha Mathew said.
“I don’t hold grudges against Miguel or your family, alpha,” I explained calmly. “You and Auntie Morgana are my family, Katya is my friend, I can’t ever think of begrudging you for what you didn’t do”
He patted my shoulder and beamed at me.
“See, darling,” he turned to face his wife. “Theo has the qualities of an alpha, and he has never failed to show it”
“You’re right, darling”, the Luna breathed. “He took after Mariela she was a woman of substance, and he turned out to be just like her”
“Oh shit!” The alpha hissed. “It’s time for the ceremony; we should go ahead immediately”
“Sure, we can chat as much as we want after the games, right?” The Luna asked, and I nodded.
“Of course, Luna, we can do that if you want”, I answered.
“That’s like my very good boy!”
I agreed and turned to leave first. The couple walked behind me
When we arrived at the ceremony venue, it was packed with people from different packs.
There were cameras and booths everywhere for each pack representative, and I couldn’t find my booth in time.

I couldn’t ask the Nightshade couple for help; they had to go on age and open the tournament.
