The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

Chapter 145

I got a jumpscare when I saw what was tugging at my shirt.

It was stuck to my shirt. I came out of the closet, and it was still hanging onto me.

I touched it, pulling it away from my shirt.

It was a hideous doll with straps; it was loose, and the straps were tugging on my zipper, trapping me.

I looked at the doll, and I got a bad feeling in my stomach.

The doll scares me for some reason; it was ugly and scary.

I wonder what Elara and Lucien were doing with a hideous doll like that in their room.

Wait… Were they into some fetish practice?

I tried pulling it away, but it won’t come off easily. I dug through Elara’s vanity and found a pair of scissors. I cut off one of the straps, and it finally came off.

I threw the doll back in its place, and the scissors too.

I straightened myself and sneaked out of the room before someone else came around and caught me snooping around.

Too bad, I couldn’t find anything useful.

Something to point out that Lucien was involved in this, but I wasn’t worried. I still have three days until Monday, and I will get my hands on something useful if I look harder.

I returned to Theo’s office to work.

Sitting in front of his computer, I looked through the transactions he had been monitoring lately, and I saw something that piqued my attention.

I zoomed in a little and caught something interesting.

The transaction was sent to the North. Theo had been tracking it for so long, but he couldn’t identify where the transaction was being sent or who was receiving it.

And today, I finally got a breakthrough: it was being sent to the North, and now we need to find out who was receiving it.

Once this person is caught, we will get to the bottom of everything.

I breathed, knowing that a major problem had just been solved. I know Theo would be happy to hear this.

I copied the files from Theo’s computer to a drive.

It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Right now, I don’t know who to trust, and I can’t risk my and my mate’s future for anything.

I closed the computer and returned to my room. Where Theo was still resting, I smiled.

I slept by his side, and when I woke up again, it was dinner time. Theo was awake as well.

We left to have dinner with our friends, it was better to stick together during this hard time.

Chapter 145

Dinner was cold and silent; it was heartbreaking to see.

I ate a little: I didn’t have any appetite, but I had to cat for my baby.

“You know, you should invite Gamma Ronan to join us someting,” I said, breaking the silence, and they looked at me, surprised.

“You know that’s not advisable, Kaia”, Theo said, and I could understand his fears.

“Why not?” I questioned. “He’s your Gamma, your third in command. If anything happens to you, he’s supposed to be there to lift you, and how would he do that if you don’t draw him closer?”

Theo and Zane exchanged a look, and I assume they were mindlinking.

“If we are going to win this fight, we need allies, and the first set of people are those who are close to us, and that includes Ronan. Please invite him to hang out with us from now on, I said, and Theo nodded.

“Alright, let’s do that. Besides, Ronan has been nothing but loyal to me since we took over,” Theo said.

“Any updates in your investigation, Justine?” I asked my friend, who had been quiet the whole time.

Something was wrong with her, and I didnt want to pry into it here.

I will talk to her later and find out what it was.

“Council Spokesman Garry Walter is a very shady guy, and recently he has been having a lot of secret meetings out of town. and I think it’s suspicious that he travels out of the city frequently, Justine said.

What was that bald older man up to? Travelling out of the pack frequently like that.

“Please continue keeping an eye on him, and report back”, I said and Justine nodded.

“Lady Cara hasn’t been around the whole day. I heard her over the phone; she was going out and won’t return until tomorrow”, Maliya reported.

“Thank you all for a good job done, girls”, I said, giving them high fives.

Theo and Zane also shared their reports with us, and we reached a few conclusions before leaving the dining room.

Everyone returned to their wing, and Theo to our room.

I was thirsty and decided to make myself mango buttermilk.

Once I made it, I took a walk around the house while the mange buttermilk cooled down.

When Kingsley came out of his room and walked up to me, smiling.

“Good evening, Kaia”, he greeted me with a smile.

“Good evening, Kingsley”, I said. “You’re still awake”

“Yes, I couldn’t sleep”, Kingsley said, looking around. “What happened in court was bugging my mind”

“Oh,” I mouthed. “I wasn’t aware you would be in court today. I was surprised”

“I had to be there to support Theo,” he said. “I have no idea who is doing this to him, but I know Theo is not capable of committing such atrocities”

“Do you have any guesses on who might be doing this?” I asked,

I was hoping to get some useful information from Kingsley, something to help us sort things out and prove Theo’s innocence.

“I wish I knew anything that could be useful in proving Theo’s innocence,” Kingsley said, sighing depressingly. “Seelanders have suffered a lot, and I know Theo wouldn’t add to their problems by taxing them. Someone is framing him in this ploy”

“I know, unfortunately, we can’t tell who it is”, I breathed. “Theyre clever, I will give them that. However, I will not let them succeed”

I looked at Kingsley, and suddenly I had an idea.

“Could Lucien and Cara be behind this?” I asked, and Kingsley’s yes popped out.

“No, that’s not possible”, Kingsley said. “Lucien might be a loudmouthed fool, but he’s not capable of doing this. And Cara, she wouldn’t risk her son’s life for this”

That makes sense. No matter how awful they might seem, they are still powerless before the law, and they might have weighed their options carefully.

They wouldn’t risk it. Someone else is behind this.

I left Kingsley and returned to my room. I went through the files again.

The attacks on Seeland and the other western regions were over six months ago.

Thinking back, Theo was in the forest chasing after attackers, who made attempts on the Shadowclaw, which was where I met him for the first time.

He wasn’t even home to send out orders, so the enforcer didn’t get the letter directly from him.

Perfect!
