The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 196

Chapter 196

I spent the whole day with Luna Morgana.

:

And with the time I stayed with her, I realised she was in so much pain.

The loss of her daughter was eating her alive.

Even though she put on a brave face in front of her pack, deep down, she wasn’t happy.

And my heart bled for her.

After a long day, I had dinner with the Alpha family, except Katya was out on an errand.

It was just me, Morgana, Miguel and the Alpha.

Dinner wasn’t awkward as Miguel was on his best behaviour and didn’t say anything to me.

I guess he was scolded, and he wanted to avoid getting scolded again.

Good. At least, I didnt have to deal with him.

When I returned to my room after dinner, something was nagging at my mind.

My mind was consumed by the thoughts of Luna Morgana’s missing daughter, and I wanted to help.

Anyway, I could.

This was the least I could do for her. Luna Morgana treated me like her daughter. I would be glad to help her reunite with her daughter.

I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes.

I sat for a moment, letting the silence settle, and then my fingers brushed something under

my

collar.

My pendant.

A small crystal orb with silver markings, one I’d always kept, though I never knew why it felt important.

But now I couldn’t understand why I felt there was some connection.

Especially after seeing the Nightshade family wall, and the sadness they lived with because of their daughter’s disappearance.

“Why dont you show it to the Luna?” Tamara whispered in my head.

She rarely talks these days, and I was scared she was slipping back into her dormant state.

“I know you are scared, but don’t think too much about it,” Tamara urged. “It’s just a way of bonding with her. She would be a little relieved, knowing she isn’t the only one who has lost someone”

I nodded, agreeing with Tamara.

I stood quickly, my heart fluttering, and I grabbed the pendant.

I stepped into the hallway, still holding the pendant on my neck and subconsciously playing with it.

After walking for a bit, I froze when I heard a voice around the corner.

Someone was hushing softly. I walked closer and saw Miguel.

I pressed myself against the wall with my pulse thundering.

“… yes, I clearly did as you instructed, and the poison still failed,” he snapped quietly.

“No… no, they won’t trace it back to me. I handled it.”

Silence fell over us, and only his whispering could be heard.

“I’ll try again when the master gives the signal again,” Miguel said. “I can’t do so many things at once. Im already doing my best. I’m making sure the shipment gets through the southern ridge. Right now, the alpha is distracted, and the Luna isn’t doing too well either. Once the Alpha is handled, the Luna will be next.”

My breath caught.

Poison? Who was he talking about?

My blood turned cold, with my heart thundering in my chest.

I took a step back. Suddenly, my heel caught the edge of a small vase sitting on a pedestal, and I accidentally slammed it to the floor.

Crack! The vase shattered on the floor.

Miguel whipped around instantly and looked in that direction.

“Who’s there?”

Panic surged through me, and I ran.

It was too late as Miguel had seen me.

While I ran, Miguel moved faster than I ever imagined.

rage burning in his eyes as he rounded the corner and saw me running away.

“You,” he hissed. “Stop right there!”

I turned to sprint, but a hand clamped over my mouth.

I felt an arm lock around my waist, pulling me away from the hallway.

I lost control, and Miguel took out his anger on me.

The pendant slipped back into my shirt.

Miguel dragged me back, fury wild in his voice.

“You just had to ruin everything,” he growled. “I always knew you’d be trouble. Father should have listened to me and sent you away”

I struggled and tried to fight him. kicking him and digging my claws into his arms, hurting him, but his grip was iron, and he covered my mouth tighter.

“Shh,” he snarled in my ear. “We’re leaving. Right now.”

He hauled me down a back stairwell, one that looked unused. It was dusty, narrow and hidden behind a tapestry.

My heart pounded louder with every step.

“No one will hear you,” he said coldly. “And no one will find you until the master is done with you.”

We slipped through a side door that opened into the woods behind the estate.

Two masked men waited with a black transport truck.

“Move,” Miguel ordered, shoving me forward.

My scream was muffled as they bound my hands and pulled a hood over my head.

The world spun around me, and I felt myself losing grip on consciousness.

Theo, I thought of him desperately.

Please, save me and our baby, Theo.

Then the truck door slammed shut.

And before I knew it, darkness swallowed me, and I lost consciousness.

When I came around again, cold was the first thing I registered.

A deep, biting cold that crawled from the stone floor that I was bundled up on and into my bones. My

eyelids felt heavy, my head pounding as though someone had split my skull open.

I forced my eyes open.

A small, dimly lit room. It was a little dark, and I could barely see anything.

It had Stone walls, iron bars, and chains bolted to the ground.
