Everyone feared me, and they all respected me-Everything I touched was adored, and it was law.

All I had ever wanted was to be the ultimate ruler of the wereworld, who could have thought that Mathew would jump in at the last minute and ruin everything I had worked so hard for.

##FLASHBACK##

I was this close to getting what I wanted. Everything was right in place.

Power sitting in my palm, and the smaller Packs were bending to my authority.

The Councils from the packs all over the continent were divided and afraid of one man -Me.

One more move, just one, and everything would’ve fallen into place.

I would have ruled them all.

Then Mathew Nightshade ruined everything.

That night, I was in battle with my strong soldiers, fighting against the Nightclaw pack, a small but powerful pack.

The battlefield was chaos, wolves tearing flesh and warriors clashing.

The air was thick with blood, and through it all.

I saw him standing like an unmovable force, Alpha Mathew Nightshade.

He wasn’t supposed to be here, and somehow, he had come to rescue the Nightclaw pack from me.

Alpha Mathew Nightshade was a powerful alpha who led the pack in the south.

He was kind and compassionate, and everyone loved him.

I planned to go after him once I ended my battle with the Nightclaw pack. Mathew’s pack was my last enemy, which I planned to defeat after assimilating all the smaller packs.

Unfortunately, before I could get to him, he came to me, fighting to rescue the Nightclaw pack, and that infuriated me.

Alpha Mathew didn’t just fight; he dominated the battlefield.

My soldiers fought hard, but everyone who lunged at him had their hearts and throats ripped out.

He was an unbeatable beast, and I was losing my grip on the battle.

Without thinking twice, I lunged at him myself, and that was a grave mistake on my part.

I lunged at him with my rage fueling every strike. I felt my body shift when I struck him, but it wasn’t enough.

He swiftly pulled away, and I missed my target. He anticipated everything, knew my strategy, and countered it.

He rendered my attack useless, and just like that, he weakened me.

And as a man of war that he was, Mathew already knew how the fight would end, and he swung into action.

While I struggled to get back on my feet, he lifted his blade, and the moment it came down, Everything changed.

My end was in sight, and it was all because of Mathew Nightshade.

His blade had moonwort powder on it, and I couldn’t recover in time. Ultimately, I was captured, and the battle ended with me losing.

When I regained consciousness, chains bit into my wrists.

I stood in the centre of the council grounds, surrounded by Alphas, elders, warriors-faces twisted with hatred, fear and disappointment.

But, I didn’t care what they thought of me; I wanted what I wanted, and I’d do anything to get it.

“They should execute him!” someone shouted.

“He’s too dangerous to be left alive!”

“He’ll come back, mark my words!”

The pack members screamed and called for my head, overlapping chaotically.

I didn’t look at them. I just stared at him, Mathew.

He was standing in front with the others. He was firm and unshaken, fueling my rage.

When he saw me glaring at him, Mathew held my gaze.

“You lost,” he said softly, and my heart exploded.

I smiled anyway.

“Temporary,” I replied.

That earned me a few more angry shouts, but I didn’t care.

Because I wasn’t thinking about them anymore, I was thinking about what mattered.

“According to the international pack law,” the spokesperson said. “The tyrant Alpha, Tarick, has committed an abominable crime against the werewolves, and his punishment is banishment into the human world”

“No, that’s not good enough!” An Alpha from the Nightclaw pack said, angrily. “He tried to kill all of us; we can’t let him go with a pat on the back”

“Yes, Alpha Damon is right,” another alpha agreed.

“Letting him live is a doom trap, waiting to happen and trap all of us again,” Alpha Stephen said, and I grinned.

Because he was right, I would not take this humiliation lightly, and I would not let them live happily ever after.

I looked at the council, and they looked conflicted, but I knew there was nothing they could do about it.

That was the law, and it worked to my advantage.

Despite wanting my head, the council could not give them what they wanted.

“We want him dead and gone,” members of the public chanted.

They angrily took over, preventing the council from taking the final decision.

After a while, Alpha Mathew stood up and waved to calm them down.

“I know you all feel, members of the public,” Mathew took over from the spokesperson. “However, it’s unfortunate that the law allows such people to go scot-free because of their family.

According to the existing laws, an offender like him cannot get the capital punishment for his crimes because he has a mate and a pregnant one at that; if anything happens to him, she would go mad, and it’s against the order of the goddess to harm a pregnant woman”

“That doesn’t make sense. What about all the people he killed?” The crowd chanted,

“I understand what you are saying,” the spokesperson said. “Rest assured, the tyrant Alpha will never cross our borders again. He will spend the rest of his life in a human prison, and he will see the sun again”

The crowd finally quieted down, and they passed judgment on me.

“And as for your mate,” the spokesperson said, and I raised my head. “She will leave the packs as well because no pack is willing to take in a she-world, whose mate ruined the lives of the whole wereworld”

They brought her forward.

My mate, Leticia.

Her eyes were red and swollen; she had been crying, but she was still strong and determined, and that was enough for me.

Standing beside her, our little child.

She was too small to understand what was happening.

:

Our child clung to her leg, and my chest tightened with pain.

I stepped closer as far as the chains allowed.

“You shouldn’t be here,” I said quietly.

“I’m not leaving you,” she whispered back, wiping her eyes.

I leaned closer, lowering my voice so only she could hear.

“You will,” I said firmly. “Because this isn’t over.”

Her lips trembled. “Tarick-”

“Listen to me.” She went still, and I breathed. “They’re not killing me,” I continued. “They’re afraid of what that would start. So they’ll banish me.”

Her breath hitched.

“And when I return…” I added, my eyes flicking briefly to Mathew, ” tables will turn again, I promise”

Then she nodded, reluctantly.

But I knew she understood what I was getting at, as she always had.

Leticia understood me more than anyone had ever done, even my own parents, and because of that, I will avenge our humiliation.

I shifted my gaze slightly.

One of my men stood at the edge of the crowd, quietly, where nobody could uncover his identity or draw

attention to him.

I held his gaze for a fraction of a second; that was enough.

He stepped forward later, unnoticed.

“Take them,” I murmured when he came close enough. “Far away. Somewhere no one will find them.”

His eyes hardened. “It will be done.”

I looked back at my mate.

“And both of you,” I corrected quietly. “Protect them.”

My child looked up at me then, confused and scared.

“Papa…” my baby cried, reaching out to me.

“Tarick Moss,” the council voice rang out. “You are hereby stripped of title, rank, and territory. You are sentenced to exile beyond the borderlands.”

The crowd cheered, and relief poured over their faces. They are a bunch of cowards.

I lifted my head, meeting Mathew Nightshade’s gaze one last time.

“You should have killed me,” I told him.

His expression didn’t change.

“Maybe,” he said. “Unfortunately, it’s not in my hands”

I smiled, knowing this would not be my end.

They dragged me away in chains, pulling me away.

Leticia took our child into her arms and moved aside while the soldiers led me away from the pack.

I was being escorted onto a jet and banished to another continent in the human world.

I looked back at my family, and Leticia was crying.

I just memorised her face. Because I knew the next time I saw her, everything would be different.

After spending a few months in jail, Silas sneaked out to see me, and I decided I wanted Mathew to feel what I was going through.

I have been separated from my family, and I wanted him to know how painful it was not to see my child again.

And that’s when I decided to get their dearest Melissa taken from them as well. She was the apple of their eyes, and I knew they would never heal from the pain of losing her. That was exactly what I wanted.

Silas successfully made it happen, and I couldn’t be happier.

##FLASHBACK ENDS##

My jaw tightened, recalling how that bastard Mathew ruined my life.

Mathew Nightshade took everything from me.

My power, my future, and my family are from me. So I took something from him as well, his precious daughter.

And this time, I won’t lose again.
