Chapter 28
–Liora–
I stepped out of my room.
The corridors smelled of incense and Jasmine.
My Jasmine.

I had them brought in every morning since the coronation – a Luna’s scent should linger, should remind everyone who ruled the halls now.
Draven’s voice echoed from his office, low and clipped.
He was scolding one of the guards again. Always so self-righteous when things went wrong, never realizing that half his chaos was of his own making.
I waited until the guard left, then glided in, a gentle smile playing on my lips.
“You sound tense, my love. Should I be worried?”
Draven sighed, rubbing a hand over his temple. “There was a report of rogues near the northern borders again. My men are cleaning it up.”
“Oh?” I tilted my head, feigning innocence. “I thought you had handled the rogue issue weeks ago.”
“I did,” he muttered. “But rogues breed like rats. We’ll stamp them out.”
I crossed to him and placed his hand on my stomach, letting my expression soften. “Then do it for him,” I said quietly. “Our son deserves a peaceful kingdom.”
That always worked. I saw it—the flicker of pride, of guilt. His hand lingered just long enough for me to know I still had him wrapped exactly where I wanted.
Good. Very Good.
At least, nobody can suspect I had anything to do with the rogues.
“Sometimes,” he murmured, “I wonder if I made the right choice.”
My pulse stuttered, but I didn’t let it show. “About what?”
“Crowning you so quickly. The High Priest wasn’t wrong….Ka-” he stopped himself, catching the name before it slipped.
I smiled sweetly, hiding the sudden rush of heat behind my eyes.
“About trusting your heart?” I whispered. “Darling, you already did that. And look what it gave you.”

He sighed, letting me pull him closer.

“I only want what’s best for the pack,” he said. “I don’t want people to question your position as Luna. The high chief….”
“And I only want what’s best for you,” I lied, pressing my lips against his jaw. “The high chief might think it was too sudden but the pack members thinks otherwise, honey”
Draven nodded, letting my words sink in. “Youre right, everyone loves you and wants you as their luna,. That’s all that matters”
“Thats all that matters,” I smiled at him.
“Yes,” his eyes lingered on mine.
“Now go handle your rogues,” I urged. “I’ll make sure dinner’s ready when you return.”
He kissed my forehead, the perfect, obedient Alpha husband, before walking out.
The door closed. I waited until his footsteps vanished down the corridor, then turned to the wall.
For a heartbeat, the smile slipped.
I touched my stomach again. “You’re safe,” I murmured. “And so am I… as long as he takes our side. Nothing will change around here”
This is my pack now.
I’m Luna, nobody can question my position.
Not even the high chief Draven respects so much.
Maybe, the high chief wants to get on my bad side.
I’m willing to take in one more enemy.
After a few hours, Draven and his men returned from checking out the northern borders in search of the
rogues
Fortunately, they found nothing.
“So?,” I hugged him. “How did it go?”
“It went well as far as I’m concerned,” He kissed my lips. “Turns out the rogues weren’t after us, they were crossing the borders”
“Oh that’s great. I guess” I purred.
I sighed inwardly.
The rogues I freed didn’t get caught.

Chapter 28
They are safe. And so is my secret.
“Come,” I beckoned to him. “Lets have dinner”

“Honey, you shouldn’t stress yourself out. Our baby needs to be born healthy” Drage jokingly touched my belly.
“Making dinner is not stressful at all,” I touched his face. “I want to see you happy. And food is one those things that makes you happy”
“Hah. You know me so well” Draven chuckles.
“Of course, you’re my Alpha. My husband now” I look him in the eye.
Claiming ownership.
He should know he’s mine now.
“I love you, Liora,” Drave muttered.
“I love you too,” I held his hand. “Let’s eat, honey”
After dinner.
Draven was already waiting in our room when I entered.
He was sitting on the couch looking through a pile of paper work.
He looked powerful. The Alpha, ever in command, ever untouchable.
“Still working at this hour,” I asked, walking in.
He didn’t look up when I approached. Only said, “A letter came this morning.”
I smiled, trailing my fingers along the edge of his seat. “You sound pleased. Is it good news?”
He leaned back in his chair, the parchment still open before him.
“From the Shadowclaw Pack,” he said. “Their Alpha wants to discuss an alliance. Trade routes, shared borders, and if it works out-military support.”
My pulse quickened.
Shadowclaw. One of the wealthiest and most feared packs in the country.
I let my expression soften into delight. “That’s incredible, Draven. You’ve wanted that connection for years.”
He finally looked at me then, that rare, reluctant smile ghosting over his lips.
“Yes. It’s the kind of alliance that could make us unstoppable.”

I moved closer, resting a hand lightly on his shoulder.
“Then it’s fate,” I whispered. “You deserve this.”

He turned his hand to hold mine. “You helped make this happen,” he said. “The council sees stability now. You’ve brought calm to this place.”
I laughed softly.
Calm, indeed. If only he knew how much effort it took to make peace look effortless.
Still, I leaned forward and said the right thing. “We’re a team, my love. This is my pack too, and I will support you every step of the way.”
He nodded. “Once the meeting is confirmed, I’ll host a feast to celebrate. The pack needs to see that their Luna and Alpha are united.”
I traced a finger along his jaw, lowering my voice. “Then they shall. Especially now…” I took his hand and pressed it gently to my stomach. “Our child deserves a legacy built on power.”
That earned me his full attention and the faintest flicker of pride in his eyes.
“You’re right,” he murmured. “We’ll rule stronger for him.”
He turned back to his desk, already lost in logistics and letters, while I smiled faintly behind him. The kind of smile that didn’t reach my eyes.
I got up.
“Honey. Let’s go to bed” I urged.
I moved close to him, taking in his scent.
Kissing him softly, he stopped working and responded.
We moved from the couch straight to the bed, our lips not parting.
We kissed hungrily like we’ve been starved of each other’ touches.
“The pup,” Draven says, breathing heavily. “Wouldn’t this hurt the pup?”
“No. This will help the pup be delivered without complications”
Draven made love to me all night.
It was as if Kaia never existed.
Just us.
Alpha and Luna of Silvermoon Pack.
