The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

–Kaia–

:

I walked into the breakfast hall with Theo, my stomach knotting.

When we walked in, all eyes turned toward us instantly, and I felt the weight of the room.

The room was thick with tension.

I didn’t want to have breakfast with the alpha family. I was used to eating in my room with Maliya or the general dining hall with the others.

But today, Theo wanted me to eat with him at the family dining hall.

I knew it wasn’t a good idea but he insisted I needed to claim my position as Luna.

And the first step was eating together as a couple.

I wanted to back out, afraid Cara and Lucien would cause a scene but Theo refused to take no for an answer.

What kind of a Luna would I be if I can’t even face these little obstructions?

Cara’s eyes narrowed the second she saw our joined hands.

“Why is she here?” Lucien asked loudly, dropping his fork with a clang. “Since when do strays join the Alpha family table?”

Cara folded her arms, her chin lifted. “Theo, must you drag her everywhere now? This is a private breakfast.”

Theo didn’t even flinch; he held my hand and led me to a seat.

“The same reason Elara was always here,” he replied coolly. “If she was welcome, then Kaia is too.”

Lucien scoffed. “You know it’s not the same, Elara has always been a part of us. Moreover, Elara had class. This one looks like she crawled in from the street.”

A sharp sting shot through my chest, but Theo’s hand on mine stayed steady, until Kingsley slammed a palm on the table.

“Lucien,” Kingley barked out, trembling with rage. “Apologise to Kaia at this instant.”

Lucien smirked, unbothered. “Why should I? She doesn’t belong here, it’s the truth.”

Theo’s jaw twitched.

Lucien grinned and kept going. “You really downgraded, brother. Nameless, packless… maybe she used those legs last night to earn breakfast at this table-”

Something inside Theo snapped. His eyes darkened.

One heartbeat I was sitting beside him.

The next, his chair scraped back and he got up and before I could think, he lunged forward, fists flying.

Lucien barely had time to react before he was on the floor, groaning.

The table shook as Theo tackled Lucien to the ground.

Theo punched Lucien in the face, beating him mercilessly.

The punches were brutal, fast, fueled by rage. Lucien’s head bounced against the floor; blood splattered.

“Stop it, Theo!” Cara’s voice rang sharp, but he didn’t even listen. “What do you think you are doing? Let him go!”

“Theo! Enough!” Kingsley shouted, rushing forward.

“I’m warning you, stop right now!!” Cara screamed hysterically.

Theo didn’t listen to their pleas, his wolf, Stash, was pushing through his skin, trying to take control of the beating but Theo resisted.

He pinned Lucien with one hand and kept smashing him with the other.

Lucien tried to defend himself, but he was no match for Theo.

“Dad! Mom, save me from this lunatic” Lucien choked on blood, crying out, but Theo didn’t slow down.

Cara suddenly turned to me, sobbing, “Kaia! Stop him! Please, stop him before he kills my baby!”

My stomach twisted. Theo wasn’t listening to reason. His vision had gone dark, he was consumed by rage.

I forced myself forward.

“Theo,” I whispered, then louder, “Theo, look at me!”

He froze for a heartbeat, his fist inches away from Lucien’s face.

“You’ve made your point,” I murmured. “Come back to me.”

Theo’s gaze stayed glued on me then slowly released Lucien, who scrambled away, clutching his bruised ribs.

Theo turned to me, his chest still heaving with rage. “Don’t ever let him disrespect you again.”

I swallowed hard, my own fear mingling with pride. “I know… I won’t.”

He didn’t spare Lucien a single look. He just grabbed my hand and led me away.

“We’re leaving,” he muttered, announcing.

We were almost at the door when Kingsley’s voice came after us

“Theo, wait! Son, please.”

Theo stopped, his jaw tightening. I could feel the anger still radiating off him.

Kingsley slowly stood from his chair, pleading with his eyes.

“You haven’t spent time with me in years. Stay, at least today. I’ll make sure Lucien keeps his mouth shut. He won’t say a single word to Kaia ever again.”

Cara shot up from her seat, eyes blazing.

“You’re unbelievable! After what he just did to my son, you still think Theo isn’t the problem in this house?”

Theo didn’t answer.

Kingsley’s eyes shifted to me, almost pleading.

“Kaia… I’ll make sure Lucien keeps his mouth shut. You have my word. Please stay. I want you here.”

Cara stormed up behind him, she puckered her lips.

“That boy almost killed my son, and this is what you’re concerned about? Kingsley, are you blind?! Theo is the problem here!”

Kingsley spun on her with a fury I’d never seen from him.

“Shut your mouth, Cara.”

Her jaw dropped.

“Lucien turned out this way because of you,” Kingsley snapped. “You raised him to disrespect everyone, his brother, his Alpha, and the woman who will be his Luna. You filled him with entitlement and hate.”

Cara trembled with rage.

“Theo isn’t just his brother,” Kingsley continued sharply. “He is the Alpha. And Kaia…” he nodded toward me

Kaia will be Luna. He should have bowed to her the moment she walked in.”

My throat tightened. Hearing that from an Elder, Theo’s father himself felt unreal.

I took a breath and stepped forward.

“If it’s better for the family,” I said quietly, “I can leave the breakfast table. I don’t want to cause trouble for everyone”

Then, I felt Theo’s hand clasping my hand tightly.

“If she leaves, I leave. I’m not sitting at a table where they treat my future Luna like a stray dog.”

Cara gasped almost elated by my decision to leave. While Lucien kept groaning like a wounded fighter.

Kingsley’s face broke with exhaustion. “Kaia, please stay. Don’t go. I truly want you here, you belong here. Theo please”

Kingsley reached for my hand as if trying to keep me there physically.

Theo shook his head. “There’s no point staying where my Luna is insulted.”

He lifted his chin, addressing the entire table.

“And I will say this one last time,” Theo said, locking eyes with Lucien and then Cara. “If anyone here calls her names again or disrespects her in any type of way, I won’t hesitate to teach them respect.”

He tugged me gently but firmly toward the door.

“We’re done here,” he said to no one and everyone at once, then walked me out of the hall.

–Elara–

Once Theo left with Kaia, the table was dropped in silence.

Then Cara exploded.

“My son!” she shrieked, fanning over Lucien. “Look at what he did to my baby! Gods, Lucien, Lucien, speak to me!”

Lucien groaned dramatically, blood dripping from his nose and split lip.

“-I’m fine,” he rasped. “He just… lost control…”

Cara rounded on Kingsley like a feral wolf.

“This is your fault!” she spat. “You let him treat Lucien like trash! You let that girl, that stray, poison your mind against Lucien and me”

“Cara,” he said, “enough.”

“No, you listen to me!” she screamed. “Theo is unstable and dangerous. And you’re encouraging him-”

Kingsley snapped. “I said ENOUGH!”

“Do you want to know why your son got beaten?” Kingsley asked, pointing at Lucien’s bloodied face. “Because you raised a disrespectful brat who thinks he’s above the Alpha.”

Cara’s mouth dropped open.

“You never disciplined him. You never held him accountable. Now, look at him, squirming with an entitled and disgraceful attitude”

Lucien’s eyes burned in humiliation.

“Dad-” he croaked.

“No,” Kingsley cut him off. “You brought this on yourself. You insulted the future Luna in front of your Alpha. Did you think there wouldn’t be consequences?”

Cara trembled with fury. “So now she matters more than your own family?”

“No,” Kingsley said sharply. “Respect and loyalty matter. And you raised a son who has none of those things.”

Cara staggered back as if slapped.

“And listen very carefully,” Kingsley added. “If you and your son continue sabotaging Theo’s rule, insulting Kaia, or stirring conflict, I will remove you both from pack affairs entirely.”

Lucien’s breath hitched.

“You wouldn’t dare,” Cara whispered.

Kingsley leaned in. “Try me.”

Saying that, Kingley left the breakfast table.

Cara fanned over Lucien but got up and left, too ashamed to face anyone.

But I caught up with him.

“Look at you,” I shot him a dirty look.

He looked pathetic staggering in front of me, I was ashamed that he was going to be my mate over Theo.

Despite Theo’s illness, he was still as gallant as ever.

“Elara,” he breathed, wiping blood from his chin, “you saw what he did -”

“You looked stupid as fuck, Lucien.” I interrupted him, raising a brow.

He stopped, looking shocked.

“How could you allow yourself to get beaten up like that and you call yourself an Alpha heir?”

“H-he caught me off guard-”

“No,” I said. “You provoked the Alpha and got whipped. If you can’t handle a few hits, how do you expect to stand against Theo for the pack?”

Lucien clenched his fists, the humiliation he suffered morphing into anger.

“Don’t mock me.”

“I’m not mocking you,” I said calmly.

“I’m reconsidering our partnership.”

Lucien stiffened. “What?”

“If you want power, you cannot afford to get caught off guard”

Lucien swallowed hard.

I turned away and stopped.

“Heal yourself, and stop bleeding on me. We have work to do.”
