Chapter 42 Transferring Classes
Chapter 42 Transferring Classes
No one wanted to cross someone like that. They all feared they might be next.
“Jensen…” Tara took a step back, her voice shaking.
He stopped in front of her, his gaze icy. “Say that nonsense again.”

Facing him, Tara lost all the confidence she’d had moments ago and shrank back beside Katrina.
“Jensen, Tara was just speaking without thinking-”
Before Katrina could finish, Chase let out a cold laugh. “Jumping in to defend Nina so fast, Jensen? You really are her loyal dog.”
Chase had barely finished speaking when Jensen’s fist slammed into his face.
A gasp rippled through the room.
Katrina rushed forward in alarm. “Chase!”
He hit the ground, blood already seeping from the corner of his mouth. He hadn’t expected Jensen–the usually quiet, overlooked illegitimate son–to actually swing at him. His face darkened instantly.
“Jensen! You trying to get yourself killed?”
Chase scrambled to his feet, raising his fist to strike back. Seeing this, Nina stepped in front of Jensen without hesitation.
Jensen froze for a split second. His instinct was to pull her behind him, but she didn’t give him the chance–she stayed planted where she was, shielding him.
Just as Chase’s punch was about to land on Nina’s face, his pupils tightened. He abruptly pulled his fist back.
From the hallway, Dora heard the commotion. She pushed through the students crowding the doorway, frowning. “It’s the first day of school–what are you all doing now?”
Her expression turned even sharper when she saw Chase bristling with anger. “Chase! You again! Can’t you go a single day without causing trouble?”
Being called out in front of everyone only fueled his temper. Katrina quickly spoke up, “Ms.

Reed, this isn’t Chase’s fault–it was Jensen who hit him!”
“That’s right, Ms. Reed, we all saw it!” Tara added, backing him up.

The room fell silent.
Everyone stared, stunned.
Jensen had a disciplinary record and had been placed in Class F–everyone knew he was a troublemaker through and through. How could he suddenly transfer into Class A?
Even Nina looked confused. He hadn’t said a word to her about it.
Transferring classes was a big deal–moving from Class F to Class A was practically unheard of in Linholt High’s history.
“Jensen showed outstanding performance in the final exams last semester,” Dora continued. “He’s also had no recent disciplinary issues, and his grades have been consistently excellent across all subjects. The principal has approved his transfer to Class A. From now on, you’re all classmates, so I expect you to get along.”
The students exchanged uneasy glances.
Chase frowned. “He was in fights before. It’s already generous that he wasn’t expelled–what makes him qualified to join Class A?”
Dora only gave him a brief look. “Also, Katrina’s grades dropped sharply in the final exams. After discussion among the teachers, she’ll be transferring to Class C for now.”
Katrina’s face went pale. “Ms. Reed…”
At the news that Katrina was being moved to Class C, Tara froze. The room immediately erupted in whispers.
“Ms. Reed! Katrina just had one bad exam–moving her to Class C like this seems too hasty!”
“Exactly, Ms. Reed. She’s our class president.”
Several students spoke up in her defense, but Dora’s expression stayed cold. “This decision was made after a comprehensive evaluation. Our school follows a system of merit–those who perform stay, those who fall behind move. Her grades dropped significantly, so she’ll be placed in Class C for now. If her scores improve, she can return to Class A.”

Listening to her blunt response, Chase’s expression hardened. “Then transfer me out, too.”
