Chapter 45 Then Let’s Fight
The disdain in the room was unmistakable.

After all, Chase and Katrina had been the ones drawing lines between students before. Back in Class A, as class president and teaching assistant, they’d made plenty of comments that looked down on the lower–ranked classes.
Now that the tables had turned, Class C finally had its chance to pay them back.
“Say that again–I dare you!”
Chase shot to his feet, clearly ready to swing at the girl who’d been leading the insults. But in the next second, every guy in the class stood up too, all of them glaring at him with open hostility.
Chase might’ve been the guy most girls in the school secretly liked, but to the boys, he was easily the most hated.
“Chase…”
Katrina edged closer, shrinking behind him.
At that moment, every student in Class C was staring at the two of them like enemies.
“I heard the Mercer family’s about to go bankrupt,” Hunter Black, Class C’s team captain, said with a sneer. “Still got money to buy your girlfriend equipment, Chase?”
Katrina froze, shock flashing across her face. She glanced at Chase. His expression had darkened, but he snapped back anyway, “What happens to the Mercer family is none of your business. Got a problem? Then let’s fight.”
He hadn’t forgotten that in every past interschool competition, the boys from Class C had always lost to him.
The others just looked at him with disdain.
“Chase, we only held back before because your family had money and you were in Class A. Now that you’re in our class, you really think we’ll go easy on you?”
Chase let out a cold laugh. “Sounds like you’re scared.”
If there was one thing he was confident about, it was fighting. He’d never backed down–and
never lost.

Chapter 45 Then Let’s Fight
“Fine. Seven tonight. School gate,” Hunter said, his voice dripping with contempt.

Katrina hadn’t expected her first day after transferring to go this badly. Hunter’s words still lingered, making her uneasy. She hesitated before asking, “Chase… is it true? About the Mercer family going bankrupt?”
“Of course not. You actually believe that?” he replied.
Only then did Katrina relax.
She’d thought so–there was no way a family like the Mercers could go bankrupt. It had to be nothing more than a rumor.
Meanwhile, back in Class A, news of the fight between Chase and Hunter was already spreading.
“Is it true? Chase is fighting Hunter?”
“Yeah. They set it for after school–seven o’clock at the front gate.”
“Oh my god. He’s only been gone one day–why is he picking a fight with people like Class C?”
The whole situation was all anyone in Class A could talk about. Nina listened quietly.
From what she remembered of her previous life, Hunter from Class C had been someone to watch–consistently ranking near the top of the class, usually within the top fifty. But because he got into fights, he’d stayed in Class C.
She also vaguely recalled that in their senior year, Hunter had developed feelings for Katrina. She’d turned him down, but he hadn’t given up and kept pursuing her for quite a while.
Later, thanks to his strong athletic performance, he was recommended to a top university after graduation.
Hunter and Chase had clashed long before this. Chase had always looked down on anyone outside Class A, and he’d even bullied Hunter when Hunter stood up for classmates in Class C. Since Hunter didn’t come from a wealthy family, he hadn’t dared push back. The last time it got bad was in their sophomore year, when he’d basically become Chase’s punching bag.
