Chapter 64 They’re Not For Sale
“Ms. Tann has a reservation,” Sloane replied, studying them with a hint of confusion. “Are you… friends of hers?”
Katrina smiled. “We’re her classmates. We saw her come in and thought we’d say hello.”
“I see. In that case, please wait in the lounge.”
Sloane moved to get them slippers, but Tara had already dragged Katrina further inside.
Sloane glanced at the shoes they were still wearing, a flicker of displeasure crossing her face, but she said nothing and went to pour them water.
“Wow, Katrina, look at these dresses,” Tara whispered, eyes wide. “They’re gorgeous–way nicer than what we bought.”
It was her first time seeing so many exquisite gowns up close, each one looking like something straight out of a high–end fashion show. The whole place felt like a private showroom.
Tara pouted. “I can’t believe Nina knows about a place like this. If I’d known, we would’ve shopped here.”
Katrina was just as dazzled.
So many beautiful dresses–it was hard to imagine how much they cost.
She stepped closer, running her fingers over the fabric with a hint of greed. These were on a completely different level from the thousand–dollar dresses at the mall. Even the texture felt different.
Just as she was about to check the price, she realized there wasn’t a tag.
“Katrina, you like that one?” Tara asked.
“I’m just looking… but why don’t their dresses have price tags?”
Tara frowned, then quickly came up with an explanation. “Maybe it’s just some small workshop. I’ve never even heard of this place. It’s not in a mall either. And come on–how upscale could a place Nina goes to be? There’s barely anyone here.”
“But they require reservations,” Katrina pointed out.
Tara snorted. “No customers and still need reservations? Sounds like they’re trying to act high-

end without actually being it.”
Katrina nodded.
That made sense. If it were a real luxury brand, there was no way she wouldn’t have heard of it.

Sloane stepped out of the VIP fitting room. Tara spoke up immediately. “We’d like to try on some dresses. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
“I’m sorry,” Sloane said. “The gowns in the main hall are for display only. They’re not for sale.”
“What do you mean, not for sale? Then what exactly do you sell?” Tara snapped. “Is it because we’re students? You think we can’t afford your clothes?”
“That’s not what I meant-”
Before Sloane could finish, Tara cut her off. “Do you even know who she is?” She gestured at Katrina. “She’s the daughter of the Sawyer family–the future young lady of Mercer Group. If Ms. Sawyer likes something in your store, that’s doing you a favor. Honestly, we’re not even sure we’d buy these no–name brands.”
Sloane’s expression darkened further.
At that moment, Nina stepped out of the fitting room.
Both Tara and Katrina turned–and froze.
The black evening gown hugged Nina’s figure perfectly, accentuating her curves while cinching her waist into a slender line. Every detail seemed tailored to her–full where it should be, sleek where it mattered–like a living Audrey Hepburn, elegant and poised, yet with the air of a black swan: refined, dangerous, and impossible to ignore.
Katrina hadn’t expected Nina to ever look this stunning.
Nina spoke calmly. “If they want to try them on, let them.”
