The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 230

Chapter Two Hundred Thirty

Diana looked back at Seraphina. For the first time since the witches entered the office, uncertainty crept through her.

Speaking privately with the Grand Witch was not exactly an appealing idea. Diana could feel the woman’s magic. Even while Seraphina deliberately kept it contained, the amount of white magic inside her was extraordinary.

Diana had believed Ravenna was the strongest white witch she would ever encounter. She

was beginning to reconsider that assumption.

“Artemis?”

Her wolf had already been watching.

“She is powerful.”

“That much I figured out.”

“Very powerful.”

Diana internally sighed.

“You’re not making me feel better.”

“I am not trying to.”

Diana kept her expression neutral while Artemis continued.

“She is stronger than Ravenna.”

Diana’s attention sharpened.

“By how much?”

“It is difficult to tell.”

Artemis paced inside their shared mind.

“Ravenna has tremendous raw power. But this witch has something Ravenna does not.”

“Experience.”

“Yes.”

Diana studied Seraphina.

The Grand Witch was elderly. Diana had no idea how old she actually was, especially considering witches did not necessarily age the same way humans did. But her eyes told Diana enough. This woman had lived. She had studied. She had probably spent decades mastering spells Ravenna had only begun learning.

“Her strength is not simply in the amount of magic she possesses,” Artemis continued. “It is

in how well she knows how to use it.”

Diana swallowed.

“And if she attacks us?”

Artemis became quiet. Too quiet.

“Artemis?”

“We would fight.”

“That wasn’t my question.”

Her wolf sighed.

“Even if Talon remains in this room, I am not certain we would win against her.”

Diana’s stomach tightened. That was not something Artemis admitted easily. Her wolf had challenged Alphas without hesitation. She had faced Thorne while carrying their pups. She had never been one to admit that another being might overpower them.

“She is that strong?”

“Yes.”

Artemis paused.

“And right now, half of my strength is protecting our pups.”

Diana instinctively placed a hand over her still–flat stomach.

“So if she wanted to hurt us…”

“Having Talon standing beside us would not guarantee anything.”

That certainly did not make Diana feel better. Apparently, Seraphina noticed her hesitation.

The elderly witch’s lips curved into an amused smile.

“Would it make you more comfortable if I made a blood seal?”

Diana blinked.

“A blood seal?”

Seraphina nodded.

“I can swear upon my blood and magic that if I deliberately attack you during our private conversation, I will forfeit all of my magical power.”

Elara’s eyes widened.

“Grand Witch-”

Seraphina raised one finger. Elara immediately stopped. Diana stared at the elderly witch. Seraphina looked completely serious. There was still an unmistakable spark of humor in her eyes. Diana narrowed hers.

“What good would that do?”

Seraphina raised an eyebrow.

“If I lose all my magic?”

“No.”

Diana gestured toward the witches behind her.

“What good is your promise if your companions can still attack me with their magic?”

There was a moment of silence. Then Seraphina laughed. Actually laughed. Not mockingly. She seemed genuinely entertained by Diana’s answer. Talon did not find it nearly as amusing. His eyes moved toward the other witches. Immediately, they seemed uncomfortable beneath

the Alpha King’s stare.

“Well,” Seraphina said thoughtfully, looking back at the witches accompanying her, “they are not particularly strong.”

Elara looked offended.

“Grand Witch.”

“Grand Witch, with respect-”

“I said what I said.”

“I like her.”

“That does not mean I cannot like her.”

“So?”

Chapter 230 1

“We can tell them to leave.”

“I know.”

“If you want me to stay, I stay.”

“I know that too.”

“Diana.”

“What?”

“We can take her.”
