Chapter 307 No Escape

Finisheo

Seeing that Davy looked like he was about to keep reminiscing, Claire hurriedly cut him off.

“Mhm, that’s exactly what happened. Davy, we’ve seen enough of the egg younglings. Let’s head back!”

If they stayed any longer, she was afraid this honest guy would blurt everything out!

Just as Davy picked her up, the large black crow stood up as well. It took two steps toward the edge of the nest on its slender legs before shifting into his human form.

Corvin looked at Claire and said, “Perfect timing. I’m just about done incubating the eggs today. I’m going down to check on the vessal. Do you want to come?”

Claire raised an eyebrow, and the hand wrapped around Davy’s head paused slightly as she asked Corvin

“Fiona?”

Corvin nodded and flew down first.

Ever since Corvin had taken Fiona away that day, Claire hadn’t seen her again. She wondered how Fiona was doing, and at the same time she was curious about what exactly a vessal looked like.

Inside Corvin’s treehouse, there was a hidden little door built into the dim wall. It was already cracked and a strong medicinal smell drifted out from inside.

Claire looked at the pitch-black doorway and felt a little uneasy. She quickly grabbed Davy’s large hand. beside her.

“Sweetheart, are you scared?”

Claire nodded.

Davy took her hand and immediately turned toward the exit.

“Then let’s not go.”

Claire quickly stopped him. After taking a deep breath, she still wanted to see Fiona.

open,

Davy couldn’t refuse her, so he held her tightly in his arms as they slowly walked through the small doorway together.

In the darkness, it took Claire quite a while for her eyes to adjust before she could barely make out what was inside.

A large wooden barrel sat in the corner, Some liquid clung to its rim and had dripped all the way onto the floor.

Corvin bent down and picked up a fox from the ground. Its fur was soaking wet, making it look especially thin and frail.

The fox’s chest rose and fell rapidly. The moment Corvin tossed it into the large wooden barrel, it struggled violently and instantly shifted back into human form.

It was Fiona.

Finished

Fiona soaked in the black medicinal liquid. Her hair and face were covered in the foul-smelling mixture as she glared viciously at Corvin, her voice hoarse and harsh.

“Corvin, I even wanted you to become my first beast mate before, and this is how cruel you are!”

Corvin didn’t answer. Instead, he casually tossed more ingredients into the barrel, including live centipedes, scorpions, and mashed earthworms, all of which floated on the surface of the liquid.

Fiona trembled violently in fear. She desperately grabbed the edge of the barrel, trying to climb out.

The medicinal liquid splashed everywhere, even landing on Corvin.

Claire walked over and looked down coldly at the miserable Fiona.

The moment Fiona saw Claire, she actually stopped struggling. Her hands turned into sharp claws as she lunged at Claire, but she came up empty.

“Claire! Did you come here just to laugh at me?”

Claire smiled. “Yep. You’re pretty smart, aren’t you?”

Seeing Fiona in such a miserable state was more than enough to satisfy her!

As she spoke, a scorpion had already crawled onto Fiona’s shoulder. Its sharp stinger suddenly pierced Fiona’s neck.

“Ah! It hurts! It hurts so much!”

Fiona’s expression changed drastically. Clutching her neck, she twisted around frantically like a dying

worm.

Watching Fiona suffer, Claire turned to Corvin and asked, “The scorpion won’t sting her to death, will it?”

The corners of Corvin’s lips curved upward, and madness flickered in his eyes as he shook his head.

“Don’t worry. She won’t die that easily. It wasn’t easy finding a vessal. I’m planning to test plenty more medicines on her.”

Hearing that, Claire felt relieved.

After screaming in agony for a while, Fiona suddenly shifted into her fox form and lightly jumped out of the barrel, only to collapse onto the floor. She could only drag herself forward as she crawled away.

Corvin clicked his tongue, walked over, and tossed her right back into the barrel. “What a hassle. You’re not getting out anyway, so why bother changing forms over and over? You spilled my precious medicinal liquid.

Such a waste!”

A vine appeared in Claire’s palm. She handed it to Corvin. “You can tie her up with this vine. That way, she won’t be able to shift whenever she wants.”

Corvin took the vine and held it near the small doorway, examining it carefully.

“Purple Scale Vine? You actually have something this rare.”

He knew exactly how precious Purple Scale Vine was, yet Claire was willing to let him use it.
