The Ultimate Litter: A Beast World System Tale novel Chapter 349

Chapter 349 Where Did You Learn That?

In the end, they collected two big barrels of beast blood.

Once the beast blood had set, Claire had the beastfolk cut it into blocks and boil the blocks in a stone pot, then slice them thin and stir them into a big pot of Cajun blood stew.

Claire hadn’t done any of the work herself, but after a full day of calling all the shots, she was parched and completely wiped out.

She took a sip of spring water from her waterskin, and the exhaustion vanished on the spot/

Tyne and Eva both had sweat beading on their foreheads, but their eyes were getting brighter by the minute.

They could already smell the food.

The beastfolk who’d been skeptical earlier had all changed their tune. They stared down at the glistening, incredible-smelling food in the stone pots they were tending, barely able to stop themselves from wolfing down right then and there.

Once every dish was finished, Claire had the beastfolk carry the loaded wooden tubs over to the bonfire party grounds.

The bonfire was already lit, and besides the huge blaze in the center, torches and braziers were scattered all around the edges for light.

Plenty of beast meat was roasting beside the fire, including two whole sheep and two whole pigs turning on spits, already sizzling and dripping fat.

The moment the beastfolk set the tubs down, wave after wave of rich, powerful aroma rolled out and hit every nose in the crowd.

“That smells amazing! What is that? It doesn’t smell like roast meat.”

“Wait, I think I know! I heard earlier that Claire had a crew cleaning out all those organs. You don’t think these amazing dishes are made from organ meat, do you?”

“Oh my God! How could anybody eat something that filthy?”

“If you won’t eat it, I will! It smells too good. I can’t help myself.”

The second Kieran gave the word, the beastfolk swarmed the tubs.

The braised chitterlings had a deep, glossy shine, with cilantro tossed in and a rich, savory sauce coating every piece.

Chapter 349 Where Did You Leam That?

The chilled offal salad was tossed together from all sorts of odds and ends, spicy and savory with a hint of sweetness, and the celery and cilantro cut right through the richness of the red chili oil to keep it crisp and refreshing.

The crowd around those dishes was packed shoulder to shoulder, without an inch to spare.

The ones who made it to the front were raving between bites and couldn’t stop eating.

The ones stuck at the back could only watch, and they hollered in frustration, “Just one bite is all I want Save some for the rest of us, and don’t eat it all!”

Claire gave Eva a pat, and Eva did exactly what she’d been coached to do, climbing onto a tall rock and calling out. “There’s fondue over here! If you want to try some, come on over!”

“Fondue?”

None of the beastfolk had ever heard of fondue in their lives, and they crowded over out of curiosity.

Two big stone pots sat in front of Eva, set up over the flames and already at á rolling boil, one filled with clear broth and the other with spicy red broth.

Eva picked up a long wooden fork, speared a slice of tripe, and dropped it into the spicy pot.

“Just like this! Put in whatever you want to eat, let it cook for a bit, fish it out when it’s done, dip it in some sauce, and it’s ready to eat.”

The tripe was fresh, and it cooked through in seconds.

Off to one side sat rows of little wooden bowls holding every kind of seasoning, along with cilantro, green onions, pickled garlic, you name it.

Eva dipped her bite into a sauce she’d mixed up ahead of time and popped it into her mouth, thrilled.

It was her first time trying it too, and she had no idea how it would taste, but she trusted Claire completely, so she didn’t hesitate for a second to be the guinea pig.

Then both of her snow-white rabbit ears sprang straight up.

Her round eyes went wide, and she nodded over and over as she said, “So good! It’s so good!”

Not a shred of doubt was left in any of the beastfolk around her, and within moments both stone pots were crammed with ingredients.

“If you can’t handle spice, cook it in the clear broth! And mix your sauce however you like. Everybody can have their own flavor!”

Eva hadn’t forgotten what Claire had asked her to say, and she called out the reminder at the top of her lungs.

Claire and Davy sat off to the side, quiet, with portions of every dish set out on the stone table just for them.
