The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 303

The moment Chloe spoke, the entire lobby went dead silent.

Her voice wasn't particularly loud, but it landed clearly in everyone's ears.

Those densely packed technical terms flowed from her lips as if she were born speaking this language. Both her pacing and accuracy were flawlessly perfect.

The Secretary General, who had initially been frowning with the materials clutched in his hand, was ready to call a stop at any moment.

But he didn't.

A minute passed.

Two minutes passed.

His brow smoothed out little by little, replaced by a look of unbelievable intense focus.

The expressions on the faces of the other interpreters nearby were even more spectacular, shifting from doubt to shock, and finally settling into something bordering on reverence.

They were all professionals. They knew better than anyone what this level of live interpretation meant.

It wasn't something that could be achieved through hard work alone.

It was talent, foundational skill, experience, and an indescribable "feel," all converging to reach that height.

Andrea stood rooted to the spot, all the color draining from her face.

She opened her mouth, trying to say something, but found she couldn't make a sound.

Only one thought kept crashing around in her head...

Impossible.

This is impossible!

This person... how is this possible...

Chloe finished translating the final paragraph, her voice trailing off naturally, as if she had just completed the most ordinary task in the world.

The lobby remained quiet for three full seconds.

Then, the Secretary General was the first to start applauding.

"Excellent." The satisfaction in his eyes was practically overflowing. "Absolutely excellent."

He turned to Monica, his tone direct and eager. "She's the one."

Three simple words, crisp and clean, without a trace of hesitation.

Monica didn't reply immediately.

She looked at Chloe with a complex gaze.

The people around them finally snapped out of it, whispering among themselves.

The Secretary General was still talking to Monica. "This level of skill is more than enough even for top-tier international conferences. Director, I don't understand why a talent like this is just an assistant?"

Monica bypassed the question, smiling at the man.

"Secretary General, right this way, please."

Before stepping into the elevator, she shot a glance at Chloe, then turned to Andrea.

"You come too."

Her head hung low, Andrea struggled to follow them.

The lobby cleared out quickly.

Only Lydia was left standing there, staring blankly at Chloe, unable to recover her senses for a long time.

"If we don't go now, the coffee shop will close," Chloe said.

Lydia finally snapped to attention, flustered. "Oh... right."

"Chloe, you... never mind, let's go."

From ordering the coffee to drinking it, her gaze couldn't help but fall on Chloe the entire time, looking like she had a million things she wanted to say but couldn't.

Chloe smiled. "Do you have questions you want to ask me?"
