The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 311

"Morning."

The next day, a flicker of emotion crossed Chloe's eyes when she saw Quentin.

Quentin narrowed his gaze, offering a warm smile. "What's wrong?"

Chloe hesitated for a moment before handing over the insulated lunch bag she had been hiding behind her back. "This is for you."

"You made this?" Quentin took it, clearly surprised.

"Yeah... You don't have to eat it. I just wanted to thank you."

She hadn't expected much from his massage last night.

But when she woke up this morning, the results had been astonishing.

It had been a long time since her hearing felt this clear.

"I'm glad it helped. I'll make it a weekly routine..."

Quentin's smile froze as he opened the container.

Chloe noticed and quickly reached to grab it back. "Does it look awful? You really shouldn't eat it..."

But Quentin shielded the bag, immediately picking up the charred mess and taking a huge bite.

"It's perfectly crispy. Tastes great."

"Really?" Chloe looked at him skeptically.

"Of course. You gave it to me, so it's mine. Don't try to take it back."

He devoured it with such enthusiasm that it actually seemed delicious.

Chloe finally breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm your assistant now. I can pack your lunches from now on."

"No need," Quentin blurted out, then quickly covered up his panic. "I love cooking. Don't take away my hobby."

"Alright."

The two arrived at the Sterling Interpretation Institute together.

As soon as they entered the building, Chloe received a work notification. She turned to Quentin.

"You go on up. Monica wants to see me."

Quentin guessed what it was about and nodded. "Okay."

Isabella didn't linger. She stood up and strode out the door.

As she passed Chloe, she shot her a meaningful sideways glance.

Chloe felt the weight of that look and couldn't help but frown slightly.

Just then, Monica called out to her. "Chloe, stay for a moment."

She closed the office door and lowered her voice. "Tell me the truth. How is your ear doing? What are the odds of a full recovery?"

Chloe paused. "Nerve damage. The chances are..."

Monica's eyes dimmed.

It had been three years. If it could be cured, it would have been fixed by now.

"Medical technology is advancing every day. We have to stay positive. I know a few top-tier specialists. I'll pass their information along to you."

"Alright. Thank you, Monica."

Chloe pushed the door open and left the office.

Isabella was waiting by the elevators, staring at her with an expressionless face.
