Chloe let out a dark laugh, staring straight into his eyes.
"Just hearing about it is too much for you? You can't believe that your precious golden girl is actually this vile and disgusting?"
Preston suppressed his rising temper. "Chloe, that's enough."
Seeing a crowd starting to gather, he clamped a hand around Chloe's wrist.
"We're going back to talk about this."
Chloe stomped hard on his foot. "Get the hell away from me!"
"I have nothing to say to a man like you. Preston, you truly sicken me! My biggest regret is marrying you, and my second biggest regret is taking three years to see your true colors!"
Fighting through the pain, Preston tightened his grip on her wrist.
He stared at Chloe, his dark eyes intense and unreadable.
Ken happened to pull the car up at that exact moment. Preston forcefully dragged Chloe into the backseat.
He slammed the door shut with a deafening thud.
"Chloe, I understand you're in a bad mood right now. I can pretend I didn't hear those words..."
Preston spoke, his voice tight with restrained anger.
Chloe scoffed, glaring at him. "If you didn't hear me clearly, I can repeat it!"
Preston clenched his jaw. "Do you really hate me that much?"
"Why shouldn't I? You aren't worth a single ounce of my affection!"
"Chloe!"
Preston fought to control his emotions. "Stop saying things out of spite, okay? Calm down first, and once you have, we can talk."
"I am perfectly calm right now. Stop treating me like a lunatic who can't control her emotions!"
Chloe's gaze was ice-cold. She pulled out her phone and immediately punched in a string of numbers.
When Preston recognized the number, his face turned terrifyingly pale, and he snatched the phone from her hands.
