The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 147

When Winona arrived at the hospital, she was relieved to find Nikita was fine.

Nikita took both their hands, her tone insistent. “Since neither of you have anything pressing today, why don’t you take this chance to get a fertility check-up? You keep telling me you’re trying, but I don’t want to be placated. I need to see you taking action.”

Yulen laughed. “Nikita, would we lie to you about something like that?”

Unlike Yulen, Winona felt mostly resigned to Nikita's demand. But not wanting to upset the elderly woman, she ended up going with Yulen to make an appointment.

Standing in the hallway, Winona said to Yulen, “You know I have trouble conceiving. When we get the results, could you help me lie to my grandmother? Just tell her everything is fine with us.”

Yulen’s voice was gentle. “Of course. Like you, the last thing I want is for Nikita to be upset.” Seeing her downcast expression, he added, “Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. What I told you before still stands. I’m not demanding we have children. We’ll let nature take its course.”

Even though she knew he was lying, Winona couldn't find it in herself to be angry. After all, she was using him too, all to help Nikita live out her last three months without any regrets.

“Winona, Yulen, what are you two doing here?”

Winona turned to see Ophelia and Stefan approaching them.

Yulen answered, “We’re here for a fertility check-up. What about you?”

Stefan’s gaze fell on Winona, and the coldness in his eyes deepened.

Ophelia smiled suggestively. “My, you two are certainly eager to have a child. I have a bit of a stomachache, and Stefan happened to be nearby, so he brought me over.”

“Well, you should get that checked out,” Yulen said. “You can’t let stomach problems linger.”
