The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 159

“See how much Mom cares for you?” Yulen said to Winona with a smile.

Winona sneered internally. If she were of no value to the Locke family, would they still be treating her so kindly?

She had no intention of returning to the villa with Yulen, so she used her usual excuse of needing to visit Nikita at the hospital.

“When are you moving back?” Yulen asked. They had been over this countless times.

Winona’s patience was wearing thin. “I’ll move back when you fire Tallulah,” she said flatly.

She knew he would never do it, but it was an impossible task designed to stop him from constantly pressuring her. She needed him to play the part of a loving husband in front of Nikita, not to actually be her husband again. The scores between them were not so easily settled.

“I know you doubt my relationship with Tallulah because of the rumors,” Yulen said with a helpless sigh, “but it’s really not what you think. This jealousy of yours is completely unfounded.”

Seeing her cold expression, he didn’t get angry; he just found it endearing. She was all bark and no bite. She claimed she wouldn’t move back because of Tallulah, yet she continued to help the Locke Group. His Winona, he thought, must still love him very much.

With that thought, he stopped pressuring her and drove her to the hospital.

After visiting Nikita, Winona took a cab back to her apartment. Camille called, telling her to continue managing the project with Powell Group, but Winona ignored the call.

When she didn’t respond, Camille sent a text: “If you complete this project, I will compensate you. Name your price.”
