The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 162

Yulen explained, "Nikita's in the hospital. Winona has been running back and forth while also helping me with the project. I need to be there for her."

This only made Tallulah feel more aggrieved. "Can't you just hire a private nurse to help? You work all day and then go to the hospital at night. Can your body even handle that? Besides, my morning sickness has been terrible lately, and you barely spend any time with me. You're always leaving me at my parents' house. It makes me really sad."

"Nikita doesn't have much time left," Yulen said, stroking her hair. "She was always good to Winona, and she's my family too. I need to be with her during her final days, to give her some peace. You just be good, okay? I promise I'll spend more time with you as soon as I can."

Tallulah didn't buy it. Yulen's free time after work was already limited, and now that it was being split with Winona, there was even less for her. Unwilling to let him go, she clung to him, whining a little longer, but he remained unmoved. In the end, she had to let him leave.

Yulen went to the hospital. Nikita had just thrown up her medicine, and Winona was on the floor, cleaning up, after having changed Nikita's clothes.

Yulen walked over and took the mop from her. "I'll do it."

Before Winona could react, he started mopping the floor. After rinsing the mop, he came back and saw that Nikita had fallen asleep. He lowered his voice, "Is Nikita not feeling well? Should I have the doctor come check on her again?"

Winona shook her head. "No need. We'll just give her the medicine again when she wakes up."

"You must be exhausted," Yulen said. "Go rest in the next room. I'll stay with her."

Remembering the last time he'd watched Nikita, when he had suddenly left and she had nearly burned herself, Winona refused. "No, it's fine."

"You still don't trust me?" Yulen sighed in resignation. "Alright, then. You take the cot, I'll sleep on the sofa."

Winona didn't care whether he stayed or left. She was genuinely exhausted and fell asleep almost as soon as she lay down on the visitor's cot.

Zayden had gotten into the fight because someone had said the Shipley family was only staying afloat in Riverton because they were clinging to the Locke family. They had also called him a useless idiot who would never amount to anything. He'd taken offense, feeling that even if he wasn't successful in business, he had other merits, and a fight had broken out.

Thinking about their taunts, Zayden was still fuming. "So what if the Shipley family is lucky? So what if we rely on the Locke family?"

"Haha, they're just jealous. The Shipleys are destined to be successful forever."

"That Winona back then ran back into the fire to save Yulen... and my sister, who just went to take a look, managed to swoop in and take the credit! She made Yulen think she was the one who saved him! Haha, the Locke family wants to repay us and treat us well, it's not like we begged them!"

Suddenly, Yulen slammed on the brakes.
