Yulen’s face turned cold again. He pried her hand off his arm and continued toward the door.

Seeing him about to leave, Tallulah burst into tears. Her sobs grew more intense until suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her stomach.

Yulen couldn't bear it. He turned back, and seeing her face pale with pain, he rushed to her side and lifted her back onto the bed. "What's wrong?"

"It hurts..." Tallulah's voice was weak.

Without a second thought, Yulen carried her out of the bedroom, got in the car, and sped to the hospital. After an examination, the doctor told Yulen, "The patient needs to remain calm. Extreme emotional swings can induce contractions, and multiple contractions could lead to a miscarriage."

Upon hearing the doctor's warning, Yulen, who had been intent on teaching Tallulah a lesson, abandoned the thought. Right now, the most important thing was the child in her womb. The Locke family needed an heir; he couldn't let anything happen to the baby.

Tallulah heard the doctor's words as if they were a get-out-of-jail-free card. She clutched Yulen’s hand tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks, looking utterly pitiful.

Yulen sighed. "Get some rest. Don't overthink things. I'm not planning to divorce you."

"Okay. I'm so sorry, Yulen. I really know I was wrong. I'll never do it again," Tallulah quickly promised. "I'll be good from now on, I won't lie to you anymore."

Yulen stayed at the hospital with her. His thoughts drifted to the scar on Winona's leg, and he suddenly realized how much his past revulsion toward it must have hurt her. No wonder she'd never told him she was the one who had saved him. He owed Winona far too much. He would have to find more ways to make it up to her.

After Nikita fell asleep, Winona stepped out of the room to reply to some work messages. Yulen stood nearby, watching her quietly. When Winona finished, she noticed him staring.

She couldn't help but frown. "What is it?"

Yulen walked over, took her hand, and looked at her with gentle eyes. "Winona, that fire four years ago… you rushed in to save me without a second thought. You must have been so scared of losing me, right?"

Winona froze. Why was he suddenly bringing this up?

"Before, I..." He hesitated, deciding it was better not to mention that he'd mistakenly believed Tallulah had saved him all this time. Winona would only overthink it and get jealous. "I want to make it up to you properly. Is there anything you want?"
