Winona looked at his deeply affectionate expression and felt nothing but weariness.
"No, thank you," she said flatly.
Yulen thought of how Winona had risked everything to save him, and his guilt intensified. If he'd known, he never would have deceived her into this marriage in the first place. But he decided it was better she never find out about that. It would only create a rift between them. A friend had once told him that women weren't afraid of being lied to; they were afraid a man couldn't keep up the lie for a lifetime. So, as long as he could deceive her forever and keep her happy, that was enough.
"Let's go look at houses tomorrow," he offered. "I know you want to live near Helena, and I'm fine with that, but that apartment is too small. I want to buy you a villa."
Winona frowned at him. What was he trying to pull now? Still, she wasn't about to refuse his generosity. After all he owed her, what was one villa?
"Fine."
Seeing her accept his offer of compensation, Yulen felt a fraction of his guilt lift. Given his status, he couldn't offer her exclusive love. But when it came to money, he would never shortchange her.

True to his word, Yulen took her to see a villa. After the tour, Winona had to admit it was impressive. The location, the natural light, the interior design—all were top-notch. Since he was offering, she would take it.
The real estate agent's heart pounded as she watched him sign the contract and make the down payment with such a flourish. Rich people really did buy villas like they were buying any other ordinary item.
"I'll move in here with you later," Yulen told her.
Winona frowned. "You're moving here? Isn't that really far from your office?"
"It's fine. I can make that sacrifice for you."
Winona clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white. She had no intention of living with him. She found an excuse. "I told you before, I'll only live with you if you fire Tallulah."
