The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 166

“But still, why would a scumbag like Yulen suddenly offer you a villa?”

Winona thought for a moment. “I have no idea. He probably has a guilty conscience about something.”

“That makes sense. Well, don’t be a fool and turn it down. He’s a cheating liar who tricked you into marriage. Squeeze every penny you can out of him—don’t go easy on him!”

The doorbell rang.

That must be the food delivery.

Winona walked over to get it.

Sure enough, a delivery driver in a bright yellow uniform stood outside. Winona thanked him and took the bag.

Suddenly, her eyes fell on a figure behind the driver.

The man used his fingerprint to unlock the door across the hall. With a soft click, the door opened.

He walked inside without a single glance in her direction.

Winona froze.

Stefan lived right across from her?

She stood there, stunned for a moment, before carrying the takeout inside.

Rhea noticed her strange expression. “What’s wrong?”

Winona patted her cheeks as if to wake herself up. “Stefan lives across the hall.”

“What? You two are that fated to meet?” Rhea’s surprise quickly turned into scheming. “Living so close gives you more opportunities than anyone else. You and Yulen are over, so why not see where things could go with Stefan? Besides, the Goddard family isn’t afraid of the Lockes. No matter how bitter Yulen is, he wouldn’t dare mess with Stefan!”

Winona pinched her friend’s cheek. “Are you still dreaming about marrying into a rich family? I got played for a fool just by being with Yulen. What makes you think I’d dare to aim for someone like Stefan?”

“But from what I saw, Stefan was really good to you. He doesn’t seem like a scumbag like Yulen.”

Winona sighed. “I heard that after Evander Goddard’s unexpected death, the Goddard family has become a real snake pit. I’m just an ordinary person. If I got involved, I’d be nothing but a pawn in their games and wouldn’t even know what hit me. Don’t joke about things like that.”

“You’ve got a point. Staying alive is more important,” Rhea conceded, helping her unpack the food. Then another thought struck her. “But what if Stefan is the one who’s interested? What if he decides to pursue you?”
