The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 167

They arrived at the Powell family's estate to find it bustling with guests from both Riverton and the capital.

Wynne was so busy she didn't have a moment to greet them personally.

Willow had arrived with Yulen's three sisters. Paige and Yvettea Locke, acting completely at home, went to help Wynne entertain the guests.

Willow pulled Winona aside. “You rarely attend these kinds of social events, so be smart, keep your mouth shut, and don’t embarrass Yulen.”

It was clear they had no intention of formally introducing Winona to anyone. If people assumed she was just Yulen’s date for the evening, they wouldn't correct them. In their circle, it was perfectly normal for a man to bring a companion to a party.

Yulen, noticing his mother’s sharp tone, spoke up for Winona. “Mom, Winona is always graceful and sensible. She’s never embarrassed me.”

Willow snorted. “Fine, she’s your precious treasure. I won’t say another word.”

Suddenly, a guest nearby exclaimed, “Mr. Goddard is here!”

Winona turned toward the entrance.

Stefan walked in, flanked by Ophelia and a young woman. The girl was dressed in a magnificent white gown, her face delicate and her dark eyes sparkling. She looked like a princess.

Whispers rippled through the crowd. “That’s Roxana Goddard, Stefan’s sister. She’s the apple of the Goddard family’s eye.”

“It’s a shame her health is so poor. She rarely makes public appearances. I’m surprised she came all the way to Riverton with Mr. Goddard.”

Willow straightened up. “Come on, let’s go say hello.”

Winona trailed behind Willow and Yulen. Both mother and son were seasoned experts at socializing, exchanging pleasantries with effortless charm.

Stefan’s expression remained cool and distant, and he said very little. Ophelia responded with a gentle smile, but her posture was condescending; she clearly didn't think much of the Locke family. As for Roxana, she ignored them completely, sipping her juice as if they weren’t there.
