The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 205

*"Winona, this is bad. The audio file is corrupted!"*

Winona's heart sank.

She immediately guessed that Blythe or Tallulah had paid a hacker to wipe it.

Seeing that she couldn't produce the audio, Yulen let out a soft, mocking scoff. "There never was any audio recording to begin wild, was there, Winona?"

Thinking about how deeply she despised Blythe and Tallulah, he pinched the bridge of his nose in utter exasperation.

"Winona, Blythe has genuinely always wanted to be a part of your life. The only reason she stayed away was because she knew you didn't want to see her, and she was terrified of upsetting you. And Tallulah—she's always viewed you as her own sister. You literally physically assaulted them both, yet they didn't press charges. They were even worried about you being stressed over Nikita, and they offered to cover all the medical bills... And you respond by trying to sue them? It's honestly chilling how cold you can be."

Winona dug her nails so hard into her palms they nearly drew blood. Her voice was pure ice. "If you're going to blindly believe their lies, then we have absolutely nothing left to discuss."

"Winona..."

He reached out to grab her hand, but Winona took a sharp step back, her eyes completely devoid of warmth. "I'm going back to take care of my grandmother. Yulen, keep Blythe and Tallulah on a very tight leash. If they ever come near her again, I won't be responsible for what happens."

Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel and walked away.

Yulen watched her go, shaking his head at what he perceived as her ridiculous stubbornness.

When Winona re-entered the hospital room, she immediately noticed that the two private nurses were missing.

Frowning, she pulled out her phone and dialed one of them. "Linda, where are you and Queenie?"

Linda sounded incredibly sheepish on the other end. "I'm so sorry, Ms. Jowett. Someone just offered Queenie and me triple our normal rate to go work for her and her daughter instead. I'm afraid we had to take it."

Winona clenched her jaw. She didn't even need to guess—it was obviously Blythe and Tallulah poaching her staff.

They were deliberately trying to leave Nikita completely helpless and unattended.

Terrified that Blythe and Tallulah would pull another stunt and put Nikita's life at risk again, she opened her phone, found Stefan Goddard's contact, and typed out a message.

*"Mr. Goddard, could I ask you for a massive favor?"*

She knew asking him for help yet again was incredibly presumptuous.

But she was completely out of options.

Nikita had to be transferred to a different hospital immediately.

Stefan was right in the middle of a board meeting when he saw her text. He raised an eyebrow in surprise.
