After a thirty-minute drive, the car pulled into the underground parking garage of a private hospital.

The medical staff quickly escorted Nikita into the intensive care unit and scheduled a fresh round of tests.

Two private nurses were already waiting by the door.

When they saw Winona, they approached with warm, reassuring smiles. "Ms. Jowett, we'll be taking over Nikita's care from here on out. Please don't worry about a thing."

Seeing their kind and professional demeanor, Winona felt a surge of profound gratitude toward Stefan.

However, a knot of anxiety still tightened in her chest. She couldn't help but wonder what Yulen would do once he discovered Nikita had been transferred...

Yulen returned to the hospital room with oatmeal, only to find both Nikita and Winona gone. He immediately called Winona, but it went straight to voicemail.

His brows furrowed in frustration as he grabbed a passing nurse. "Where is Nikita?"

The nurse checked the system and replied, "The patient was transferred at eight o'clock tonight. It was specially authorized by the chief of medicine."

Yulen's scowl deepened. He marched straight to the chief's office.

The chief looked visibly uncomfortable when Yulen barged in demanding answers.

On one side was the Locke Group; on the other was the Goddard Group.

He couldn't afford to offend either powerhouse.

Finally, he sighed and spoke the truth. "Our hands were tied. Ms. Jowett was adamant about transferring the patient, and we have no legal right to hold her against her will. Furthermore, the head of the Goddard Group made it explicitly clear that if we didn't authorize the release, he would bankrupt this hospital. Mr. Locke, please don't make this harder on us. The decision was entirely out of our hands."

It was Stefan!

Yulen clenched his jaw. He couldn't fathom why Winona would rather put her trust in Stefan than in him.

Suddenly, a flicker of panic hit him. Did Winona find out that he had secretly ordered the doctors to reduce Nikita's medication?

No, that was impossible.

If she knew about that, she would have blown up at him already.

She must have transferred Nikita in secret just to spite him over the whole situation with Blythe and Tallulah.

With the security detail and private nurses Stefan had arranged, Nikita was finally safe. Winona breathed a massive sigh of relief, knowing her grandmother would no longer be harassed by Yulen, Tallulah, or Blythe. Now, she could actually focus on going back to work.

Her new phone and SIM card arrived in the mail. After activating the new number, she locked her old phone away in a desk drawer at home.

With a new device, Yulen's tracking app was rendered entirely useless.

As Nikita's condition steadily improved, Winona sent Stefan a text expressing her deep appreciation.

Stefan's reply was brief and to the point: "Don't mention it."

She figured he was keeping his distance because of Ophelia Powell.

Because of that, she didn't dare cross the line by inviting him out to dinner or making a grand gesture.

She owed him a massive favor for Nikita's transfer, one she would just have to find a way to repay in the future.

She was just about to lock her screen when Rhea suddenly called.

"Winona, my boyfriend found a tech genius who managed to recover the corrupted audio file! We have everything we need to press charges against Blythe and Tallulah."
