The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 207

Hearing the incredible news, Winona gasped in sheer relief. "Are you serious?"

"Dead serious," Rhea said, sounding exceptionally smug. "If they think they can mess with Nikita and get away with it, they've got another thing coming. Just you wait—we are going to make them pay."

For the next few days, Winona threw herself into her work as usual.

Tallulah hadn't been to the office in a while, between the injuries on her face and severe morning sickness.

The Goddard Group team considered her completely expendable anyway, so no one batted an eye at her extended absence.

On Thursday evening, the director, Nolan Archer, invited Tallulah and Jericho Harper out for dinner.

After hashing out project details, the three of them went their separate ways.

Realizing she had left her wallet in the private dining room, Winona turned back to retrieve it. On her way there, she bumped straight into Tallulah and Blythe.

The mother-daughter duo still had bandages on their faces, but that didn't stop them from dripping in diamonds and designer labels.

They spotted Winona instantly.

In an effort to apologize on Winona's behalf, Yulen had showered the Shipley family with perks, even letting them max out credit cards on millions of dollars' worth of jewelry. That payout had temporarily pacified their rage.

Hearing that Nikita had been moved to a different hospital and that Winona had finally moved out of Yulen's mansion, Blythe and Tallulah were absolutely thrilled. They assumed Winona had finally learned her place.

Catching sight of Winona, Tallulah flashed a triumphant, nasty smile.

"And here I thought Yulen actually cared about you. Guess not. We literally sent your grandmother to the ICU, and he still took our side. It must be eating you alive, Winona. If you had any dignity left, you'd pack your bags and leave Yulen for good!"

Winona's gaze was ice-cold. "Do you really think I'm just going to let what you did to my grandmother slide?"

Tallulah assumed she was just making empty threats and scoffed. "What are you going to do? Sue us?"

They knew the recording had been destroyed. There was no way Winona had any tangible proof.

"That's exactly what I'm going to do," Winona said, her voice laced with lethal calm. "Keep an eye on your mailbox. The subpoena is on its way."

Blythe bristled at Winona's ruthless tone.

She was Winona's biological mother. In her twisted mind, she had every right to treat Winona terribly, but Winona was required to respect her unconditionally.
