The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 255

The caregiver felt deeply wronged. She had poured him lukewarm water just moments ago, and he had complained it was too cold. Now she poured hot water, and he said it was boiling.

Mr. Locke was impossible to please.

She stood by silently, keeping her head down.

Even after his outburst, Yulen still felt a hollow ache in his chest. He couldn't help but remember how Winona used to take care of him when he was sick. She had always been so gentle, anticipating his every need, unlike this clumsy caregiver who couldn't do a single thing right.

He picked up his phone and called Camille again. "Camille, didn't you say you were going to get Winona to come look after me?"

He had tried calling Winona himself, but she had ignored him. Knowing his sister always had a way of getting things done, he expected her to fix this.

"I tried," Camille snapped, clearly annoyed. "She doesn't have time. And frankly, your condition isn't even that serious. Rest for a day or two and get back to the office. If you're that desperate for company, call Tallulah."

But for some inexplicable reason, the only person Yulen wanted was Winona.

"Forget it. I don't need anyone," he snapped before hanging up.

Feeling increasingly agitated, he glared at the caregiver. "Get the wheelchair. Take me for a walk."

The caregiver sighed inwardly, helped him into the chair, and pushed him out into the corridor.

As they passed the nurses' station, Yulen caught sight of a familiar silhouette.

It was Winona!

He knew it. She still cared about him. She had come after all.

"Follow that woman in the light blue dress up ahead," he ordered urgently.

Unfortunately, there happened to be two women in light blue dresses near the station. Assuming he meant the slightly more voluptuous one, the caregiver steered the wheelchair in her direction.

Winona, completely unaware of Yulen's presence, led a nurse back into Stefan's room, while the other woman in blue headed toward the elevators.

Realizing they were tailing the wrong person, Yulen completely lost his temper. "What the hell are you doing? I meant the other woman in the blue dress!"

The caregiver hastily spun the wheelchair around, but by then, Winona was long gone.

Yulen gritted his teeth. "She has to be in this ward. Push me down the hall. We're checking every single room."

The caregiver suppressed a groan of frustration and obediently began pushing him down the corridor.

Back in the room, the nurse removed Stefan's IV needle.

Winona pressed a cotton swab against the puncture mark on the back of his hand, listening intently to the nurse's post-care instructions.
