The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 294

Yulen sighed in exasperation. "Winona, how much longer are you going to throw this tantrum?"

He pulled out an elite credit card and held it out to her. "I had them issue you a supplementary black card. I'll give you a fifty-thousand-dollar monthly allowance. If that's not enough, I'll have the limit raised. I've also already spoken to the hospital board about your aunt—she'll be fast-tracked for promotions from now on. I'm even planning to buy a villa near the hospital for her and pay to send Greta to an international school. How does that sound?"

He felt he was being incredibly generous. Not only was he spoiling Winona, but he was elevating her entire family's social standing. What other man would go to such lengths?

Winona's smile dripped with mockery. "You really are a completely different person now. You used to have at least a shred of humanity, but now you're just a ruthless, transactional capitalist. Do you honestly believe money can buy anything?"

Yulen felt he had humbled himself and offered an absolute goldmine of benefits, yet she was still being completely unreasonable. He was starting to lose his patience.

"Winona, you're not some naive girl in your early twenties anymore. Be realistic. Isn't it nice to have endless money to spend and a man to spoil you?"

Winona realized there was absolutely no point in continuing this conversation. Their core values were galaxies apart.

She wanted absolute loyalty and to prove her worth through her own hard work. To him, her ideals were probably nothing more than a childish joke. The version of her he had initially fallen in love with wasn't some kept woman dependent on a man's wallet, but now, that was exactly what he wanted to reduce her to.

Her voice was ice. "Go back to your precious Tallulah. She's exactly the kind of woman you want. I will never be your little puppet to play with."

"Winona Jowett!"

He absolutely despised this feeling of losing control.

"Why can't you just be obedient?!"

He grabbed her wrist, desperate to force her back into the mold of the girl she used to be—the girl who smiled at him and catered to his every whim.

Unable to wrench her hand free, Winona slapped him hard across the face.
