The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 314

Knowing she was entirely in the wrong, Margaret kept her mouth shut.

Noticing the sheer exhaustion on Stefan's face, Violet sighed softly. "Get some rest. From now on, if anyone dares to disturb you, they'll have to answer to me."

Margaret visibly flinched.

She seethed silently—His my son. What kind of world is it where a mother isn't even allowed to visit her own child?

Violet turned her attention to Winona, her expression softening. "Is your arm alright?"

Winona's skin had been bitten badly enough to draw blood. She had to step out to have a nurse disinfect it and apply an ointment.

Standing beside her, Roxana fumed. "She is unbelievable. If it weren't for the whole 'repaying a favor' thing, absolutely no one would put up with her."

Violet didn't take any chances. She stationed over a dozen extra bodyguards around the perimeter of the room with strict orders: If Margaret, Mrs. Mallory, or Maeve showed up, they were to be turned away immediately.

Finally, Stefan was granted some peace.

A week drifted by. Stefan's burns slowly scabbed over, and he was able to get out of bed and walk.

Winona spent every free moment by his side. When he needed to reply to urgent emails, she typed them out for him. When he rested, she sat quietly nearby, working on her own projects.

Hoping to give them some alone time, Violet and Roxana strictly timed their visits for when Winona wasn't around.

Seeing zero romantic progression between the two, Violet couldn't hide her impatience. "Have you even told her you have feelings for her?"

Stefan kept his eyes fixed on the documents glowing on his laptop screen. "Not yet."

Violet let out an exasperated laugh. "Well, no wonder! If you just sit there like a brick wall, how is she supposed to know? Don't tell me you're waiting for her to confess first."
