The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 611

Helena pulled Winona aside. "I can just share a room with Nikita and Greta. We don't need anything this extravagant. A standard double room is more than enough. Could you ask the front desk to switch us?"

Winona gently explained, "This hotel is owned by Stefan's company. They always keep a few suites reserved for him and his family. Even if we didn't stay here, the rooms would just sit empty."

Helena looked troubled. "Is he just saying that so we won't feel guilty? Winona, we're from two completely different worlds. What's pocket change to him is a massive expense for us. I don't feel right taking advantage of his generosity. Plus, with him paying for this entire trip, won't it make you look bad in his eyes?"

When Winona had been with Yulen Locke, the occasional trips they took always involved budget motels. Even then, Helena had insisted on paying for her, Greta, and Nikita's meals, terrified of spending a dime of Yulen's money.

She knew that the more of Yulen's money they spent, the less respect Winona would get in his household.

Naturally, she applied the same logic to Stefan. He might be wealthy, but that was his money. They couldn't be mooches.

Seeing her aunt so visibly anxious, Winona went back to talk to Stefan.

Stefan smiled warmly and walked over to Helena. "Helena, the hotel is completely booked up right now, so we can't downgrade the rooms. But look at it this way—if you find anything lacking during your stay, you can give me some honest user feedback. It'll really help management improve the service and operations."

Presented with such a polite and reasonable argument, Helena could only nod in agreement.

But honestly, for a room that likely cost thousands of dollars a night, she couldn't imagine having a single complaint.

Once inside, Greta was practically bouncing off the walls, exploring every corner.

Helena, however, stared at the designer furniture and high-end art pieces, her chest tight with nerves.

For the first time, it truly hit her: Winona and Stefan's relationship crossed a massive socio-economic divide.

Nikita still looked unconvinced.

"When he came to our house for dinner and stayed over, he must have been so uncomfortable. If he doesn't like it, you shouldn't force him to come around anymore."

Winona couldn't help but laugh. "He's an incredibly genuine guy, Nikita, and he has a mind of his own. Nobody can force him to do something he doesn't want to do. He's absolutely nothing like Yulen. You'll see once you spend a little more time with him."

Down in the first-floor play area, Greta was happily swinging on a swing set.

Suddenly, someone shoved her hard from behind.

Greta hit the ground. Wincing through the pain, she scrambled up and glared at the little boy who had pushed her. "Why did you do that?!"
