The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 621

After work, Winona went to the hospital to check on Forrest Kane. Seeing him up and beginning his physical therapy, with the doctors highly optimistic about a full recovery, lifted her spirits.

Simone Sterling usually spent her evenings with Forrest, but she was stuck in a late meeting. Winona decided to stay and keep him company until Simone arrived. They fell into a deep, engaging conversation about an upcoming AI medical project.

Suddenly, the door swung open. Karina Shepherd breezed in. "Forrest, I brought you some dinner!"

Winona blinked. What was Karina doing here? How did she even know Forrest?

Forrest rubbed his temples, visibly annoyed. Ever since he had inadvertently helped Karina a while back, she had somehow tracked him down to this hospital room. Now, she showed up every single day, trying to force a connection. Forrest knew he was good-looking and was used to women throwing themselves at him. He had politely told her he had a girlfriend, but Karina had brushed it off, claiming she just wanted to be 'friends.' No matter how coldly he treated her, she refused to take the hint.

Usually, Karina visited during the day and Simone came at night, so they hadn't crossed paths. But tonight, Karina had intentionally come late, hoping to run into the girlfriend and mark her territory.

She certainly hadn't expected to find Winona sitting there.

Her mind jumped to the wildest conclusion. Was Winona his girlfriend?

Karina glared at her with pure venom. "You are completely shameless. You string my cousin along, and now you're sneaking around with Forrest behind his back?" She whipped around to face Forrest. "Don't let her play you! She's living with my cousin, Stefan! She's a manipulative user who sleeps around!"

With that, she turned and fled the room, wiping her eyes.

Winona thought about Professor Bell, who had relentlessly pursued her to be his protégé, and looked at Forrest. Being chased by someone that stubborn was genuinely exhausting. She felt a twinge of sympathy for him.

Right then, Simone pushed the door open. "I just saw a girl running out of here crying. What happened?" she asked, looking between them.

Forrest had thought he could handle Karina quietly, making her give up without Simone ever having to deal with the drama. Clearly, he had underestimated Karina's delusion.
