Stefan maintained his mild expression, quietly waiting for her to elaborate.
"I said some pretty harsh things," Winona continued. "I doubt he'll have the nerve to show up again."
Stefan's demeanor remained as warm as ever, as if the incident hadn't bothered him in the slightest.
But that night, as they tangled in the sheets, his kisses left her completely breathless. Because she was in her first trimester, they were holding off on anything too physically strenuous just to be safe, but making out was still very much on the table. He was usually so gentle. Tonight, however, his kisses were fierce, demanding, as if he were trying to prove a point.
It took Winona a moment to realize this was entirely about Yulen.
Note to self: next time she spotted Yulen Locke, she needed to take a massive detour. Otherwise, Stefan's jealousy was going to drown them both.

Before heading to work the next morning, Winona called Lexie to let her know they had added a cat to the household.
Lexie laughed warmly. "Oh, I have plenty of experience with cats! I used to take care of Mrs. Goddard's cats all the time. Don't you worry about a thing; you just go to work. I'll make sure both Biscuit and Blossom are well-fed and perfectly happy."
Initially, Pip was supposed to handle the pet-feeding duties. Unfortunately, Biscuit had accidentally mashed a button that put the little robot into a deep sleep mode. Because of that, Winona figured it was safer to have Lexie come by during the day to check on the animals.
Arriving at the office, Winona bumped into Eloise by the elevators. Eloise didn't even bother to say hello, arrogantly turning her head away. Winona noticed the designer bag slung over her shoulder. The brand cost a small fortune, and given Eloise's average background, there was no way she could afford it on her salary.
She remembered how suspiciously Eloise had been eyeing her computer lately, and her guard went up.
Once at her desk, Winona booted up her laptop. She checked the monitoring software and saw that it had finally tracked down a local IP address. It seemed the culprit had grown careless and switched to a local network to siphon off her files.
"I suspect someone stole confidential files from my computer," Winona said firmly. "I'm filing a report."
Forrest Kane arrived straight from the hospital to provide technical support.
The officer took her statement, reviewed the hard evidence, and immediately called Karina, ordering her to come down to the precinct for questioning.
Karina had no idea what was going on. When she walked into the station and spotted Forrest, her eyes lit up. "Forrest! What are you doing here?"
Forrest's expression was freezing cold. He didn't answer.
Then Karina noticed Winona. Assuming this was about the past takeout drama, she crossed her arms. "Winona, are you seriously calling the cops over that food delivery thing? I already suffered enough because of that. You should be glad I didn't come after you!"
